Well, Im thinkin maybe my 220 carry isnt gonna work at all. Still jams on the last round from time to time. Perhaps i need an equivalent.....
Im thinkin about getting a refund for my Sig, and using the $$ to buy an H&K USP compact 45. They still make them right?? Any one here have one?? What are your thoughts??? |

I think the USP series is now discontinued, though they are still pretty widely available.
Personally, for the cost of HKs, and sadly SIGs are getting there too, along with the high cost of magazines, its getting harder and harder to justify the purchase. If you're sure you can't locate the problem on the 220 carry and correct it, and decide to get rid of it, consider Glock or XD. I have examples of both and they are top notch. -Brian Meddle not in the affairs of dragons...for when crispy you taste good with ketsup. |

Id go for a glock, but i dont like the safety......the XD isnt much different, and they dont make the XD short enough for my liking....

I am pretty sure the USP 45 Compact is still around, though I am not an HK expert. They may very well replace the USP 45C with the HK45C.
I own both a P220 Carry and a HK45C. I like the HK slightly better. Better grip, better magazine release (I like to use my index finger) and overall slightly less chunky. When I first picked up my P220 Carry, 'chunky' was the word that came to mind. The HK45C on the other hand, feels more streamlined to me. Dimensionally they are very similar. I have had no functioning issues with either. I cannot manipulate the HK safety as easily as I can the Sig de-cocker. I mainly use the HK as a de-cock type pistol though. I like both, but the HK has a slight edge for me. |

The HK USPc 45 is still widely available at most gun retailers and I believe HK is still manufacturing the USP line, at least they list them on their website. In 2007, HK introduced the more ergonomic HK45c which in my opinion is a nicer, more comfortable pistol. Both versions use the same mags if you end up trying to find mags. Good luck!
BTW, another outstanding endorsement for HK products here. I've never had an HK not go bang every time I pull the trigger. They are the pinnacle of polymer pistols without a doubt. http://www.hk-usa.com/products.html MODIECAST SIGS - Yes, I have a few... |

OOOO Augen!
That first one is a thing of beauty! Not so much looking for the Tacti-cool version of the H&K....which reminds me a few months ago, I saw some dumb college student admiring one out of the case....had the threaded barrel and everything....... Hes tryin to impress his girlfriend whos next to him (didnt look like she cared bout guns anyways) He looks at the threaded barrel and says "Yea, Im gonna carry that one, cause if someguy wants to fight me in an ally, i can put a silencer on it and shoot the guy and no one would know" I turn to him and say "Kid, theres a whole list of things wrong with what you just said". The kid actually got smarter by leaving the store. |

I CCW carry my USPc 45 daily and love it. Like others have said, goes bang every time and carries really well.

You won't regret it. Like you, I have a problem with the 220 Carry, same problem as yours, but Sig fixed it but I'm not comfortable with the thought that when my life is at stake, the 220 Carry might not deliver.
My USP 45C is ultra reliable, eats everything I feed it and lazer guided accuracy without me trying too hard. I also bought the HK45C recently and I love it. ___________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________ Here you go....Dued to popular request, no Sigline. |

The HK USP line up is still in production and there are no plans to discontinue them (why would they
I love my HK45c. The grip feels great (especially with a hogue grip), has minimal recoil, and is VERY accurate. Recently I have been shooting the HK45c better then my fullsize 45's |

I've got a USP.45C sitting next to me right now. Very comfortable to shoot. Nice handgun.
The trigger on mine is a little heavy and a little gritty, and I'd prefer it with a LEM mod, but otherwise it's a great handgun. The "compact" part is a bit of a misnomer, as it isn't really compact, but is more on par with a Sig 229 for size. |

drkhrt532, I parted with my P220 Carry SAO because of FTFs on the last round: Problem when away, problem came back, gun went away.
My suggestion is to scour our own classified board here or look over on GunBroker for a slightly used one. The USPC 45 I bought came from a member here on the forum. It was in great shape and didn't cost an arm and leg. Then you can use the extra coin to buy ammo. See my 1000th Karma Post (thanks for the inspiration modiecast) |
