I understand that some great Sigs are available through LEO trade ins. Can anyone advise me of sources as where to shop/purchase.

Keep an eye on aimsurplus.com or sign up for their email alert. They’ve gotten sigs in the past. I got a 229 from them for under $500. Only slight internal wear from use. Great deal.

Check out

GT Distributing P226 No Rail .40sw

and
Recoil Gunworks

Police trades

They have all types of police equipment and mostly Glocks, but usually have 1-2 Sig .40s in stock.

if you are cool with a 40 these are a great deal. I will probably get a 357 sig barrel. mine was in great shape. unfortuantly mine had a e2 grip and wasn't a german frame.

I called and they were 399 and free shupping!!

I just purchased one from Kingsfirearmsonline but not a good experience at all. It is in good shape, though missing the slide stop tip or has a small one installed. So a $3 part on the way.

LEO trade in market is awash with 40S&W pistols.

All of the regular haunts I look at have been mentioned - I've only bought from Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore recently but the transaction was flawless (G23.4, fair for $309 2 years ago).

Summit gun broker is showing used PD P226 DAOs in .40 S&W for a good price.

Link

I've purchased from him before (a couple years ago) and if I was in the market I'd grab one of the pistols in the link.

Recoil Gun Works has Sig 226R 40 cal for $399. Kings Firearms on Gunbroker has 229R and 226R in 40 for $399, I did an offer for $359 and got a 229R. Aim Surplus has 226R in 40 for $399.

I just picked up a police trade-in G23 from Recoil Gun Works. No comment on the P226, but I've purchased several police trade-ins lately from Recoil and each transaction has gone smoothly. The G23 arrived in excellent condition, great deal considering it's shape and that it already had Trijicon HD sights installed.

While the thread regards a Sig and not a Glock, I'm comfortable doing business with Recoil again. I've purchased several surplus rifles and handguns from them lately; all as advertised, all shipped quickly, no complaints. The last rifle arrived with extra pmags in the plastic. The rifle was worn, as expected for a trade-in, but still a good deal.

I've been out of the Sig game for awhile but I admittedly miss my P226. Are these .40 trade-ins able to be converted to 9mm with one of the X-Change kits?

Ive got some red box sigs for 450.00 shipped. 229 and 226s, 40 and 357. Email if interested. Being a red box theyre almost certianly going to be cleaner than a PD trade.

Summit's owner is winding down his business. Lower on his homepage is talk of his pending retirement.

Sad to hear about Summit. I have ordered a few things from him over the years and never had a problem. I have found quite a few good deals on Gunbroker. They are not necessarily police trade ins but sometimes you get a better quality pistol. I would be leery about getting any trade ins from other countries, as some of those pistol are worn out,(ex. the Israel police/military Sig trade ins a couple years prior). I got one that had little to no finish and the rails on the frame were just about shot/worn.
