Life's a bitch, honey. Practice makes perfect. When you find a gun you can actually shoot, buy several copies. Practice with all of them. When you can consistently hit your target, buy more ammo and hit it more often. Practice until you can consistently hit in the 10 ring at 50 yards. Then you can whine about accessories.

I don't mean to be offensive, but, IMHO, I see far too much focus on equipment and far too little on basics. Practice to save a life, not to make "Grand Master." Chess champions don't get mugged. And operators ain't on gun forums.

I do not disagree with you- for those whose work require it. Yet for those of us who love our guns; who have many varieties, and who take pride in taking the innards out, polishing them, changing them in other to creat a “more perfect” pistol and at the end of the day, are proud of it and want to share their handy-work with others in the hopes of inspiring those of like mind and perhaps, too, those of different mindsets...to them, er, to us your suggestions do not apply.

Not only that, a pistol that someone would be proud to be shot with.

Because some are such picky eaters.

I believe a couple days ago the OP commented in another thread how he liked his Wilson Combat Brigadier Tactical.

Busted....

Fred, you've got to get rid of that fancy pistol now, or come off the high horse.

Arc.

Beware of a man whose only pistol is a 1911, he's probably very good with it.

The Brig Tac is a stock gun, Wilson does NOT do work to it. Wilson provides a rear sight, recoil guide rod and G-10 grips, parts are provided to Beretta and Beretta adds the parts. The gun is made by Beretta, they are shipped to Wilson and they sell them. Most likely they don't even open the box when they come in from Beretta. Hate to burst a bubble here but it's really no better than a 92G Brigadier.

You can add an action tune for 100+ but it's not really needed.

I thought it had the D spring in it to lower trigger weight according to published specs? OP was ranting against such mods as changing trigger weight.

Yes, it does. 16 lbs D spring vs 20 lbs standard weight hammer spring for the 92 series.

D spring is a stock part provided by Beretta. The Beretta Elite series of guns all come with "D" springs from the factory. I'm only pointing out the Wilson affiliation. They aren't worked on by Wilson.

Point being it's a STOCK gun.

The Brig Tac is a stock gun, Wilson does NOT do work to it.

At $1,195, available exclusively from Wilson Combat, the shooter can have a new version of a gun going for the same price as a decade-old, used 92G SD pistol, but with fresh night sights, a sweeter trigger and Wilson Combat goodies installed.

Ref: Massad Ayoob Reviews the Beretta/Wilson Combat 92G Brigadier Tactical

$1200, eh? Seems pretty highfalutin to me. Certainly there are other DA/SA pistols out there for a lot less money that should enable someone to hit the ten-ring consistently at fifty yards, no?

My Shadow 2 has a 2.5 S.A. trigger pull. It is a stock gun.

The bigger point is that there is zero difference if guns are made more shootable before they hit shelves or after. If Bill specd BrigTac with a D spring and somebody dropped 1200 on that gun, that somebody can't say that a dude who put the same spring into a $400 M9 is a whiny shortcutter who can't master a stock pistol.

It’s a factory modded pistol. Other people tend to mod themselves and make their own versions for less money. Either way some big time hypocrite in this here thread. I see the same modification police step on their own dicks on my automobile and motorcycle forums. To them, nothing should be changed. Why people concern themselves with other people’s property escapes me. Worry about your own shit instead of others. Many of us have been jacking with pistols long enough to know it’s software AND hardware, both.

I just can't anymore... You guys can battle it out here on the internet, I'm hitting the range.

First, try decaf.

Secondly, this is the context:

The B Tac is not a "service pistol with NO enhancements."

It is clear Fred was insisting on bone stock standard models, that is implied, if not explicit.

Arc.

That's because your position, like that of the OP, is not tenable.

The pistol in question is clearly not a bone stock service pistol. Read the article I referenced and the comments by Bill Wilson, himself: "I wanted to do an ‘enhanced’ 92G SD."

If the OP is trying to say that a good shot can make the best of a stock pistol then I'd agree with him, and I think that it's, well, obvious.
