I need some help. I want to completely disassemble my slide for my 2022, but I can not.

I am anal about the disassembly and cleaning of all my weapons, so I have taken almost every weapon I own apart to the frame.

How the heck do you remove the extractor and firing pin mechanism?

Thanks for any help you may offer

Steve

To remove the fp, the fp positioning pin needs to be removed from the left side of the slide. Use a 3mm cup tip punch. These pins can be stubborn, so it's adviseable to start the pin moving with a short punch and finish the removal with a standard length punch. This is a one-time-use pin and should be replaced with a new part. Removal of the fp is not necessary unless the pistol has been subjected to harsh/unusual circumstances.

To remove the extractor, insert a thin flat-blade screwdriver between the outside edge of the extractor and the slide. Lever the extractor just enough to clear the edge of the slide and rotate the extractor down and out of the slide. Removal of the extractor is not necessary for cleaning.

You have to remove the fppp, it's a tapered dowel pin that goes through the slide behind the breach.
I don't recommend (nor does Sig) doing this for normal cleaning.
I highly recommend getting the armorers DVD.

Thanks for the info folks. I also intend on refinishing the slide, so I need to press the sights, as well as remove all parts.

Thanks again

Steve
