First I called Sig and was a little confused by the guys answer.

I am a member of a Volunteer Fire Department (we don't even have ID cards so I wondered how prove I am a member of the department) and thought I would try to get in on this program as I want a P250. I called and was told that it was intended for people that are authorized to carry a firearm on duty. I said that I didn't know of any Fire Fighters that would be able to carry a gun and he was taken aback by the statement! There are no EMT's, Paramedics, Fire Fighters, or any other emergency personnel that I am aware of that can carry while on a call. Can you imagine the s*#% storm that would bring down on a city/county if they shot someone. I don't even know of a jurisdicition that allows the carrying of mace.

Sorry for a rant and on my first post no less I have just been researching the P250 here for few days and was just amazed at the response. I'll still probably buy one but that answer just shocked me.

While Iam neither a rep for sig nor a First Responder of any sort My take was this was a thank you from sig to these people for performing much needed high risk jobs for half money that they deserve. Really crappy in my opinion.

Call on God...but row away from the rocks.

Welcome to the forum. I don't know anything about Sig offers, but Glock has a homeland security discount that would cover you.

Yes, this is a Sig Forum, but many of us value diversity.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yeah his response surprised me as I thought that was the point of the rebate as well. I am Volunteer so I get nothing for it not that I mind because I enjoy doing it and am glad to help. Happily I have a boss that understands why I do it so I can at least get off of work when the pager goes off.

I CCW a Glock 23 which I like but wanted to diversify and see how I like others. I'd also like try a S&W M&P compact but like the Sig nobody has one in my area.

I'm an EMT with my local rescue squad and I was able to use the discount 4 times Smile. Twice I used my county issued ID and twice I just had my crew chief sign a letter on our squad letter head saying that I am currently an active running member. - Chris

FYI... You are in the running for the biggest avatar on the forum... 369k!

Will one less box of ammo, this month, kill you?
No, but the money could save a child's life...
