has anyone heard of Sig making a 1911 in 9mm? I think that would be kinda sweet.

A long time ago, back in the Earhardt days, there was talk of GSR's in multiple calibers. Since then, I haven't heard anything along those lines.

We built a 9mm GSR concept pistol for SIGARMS in 2005, and it's certainly possible. All it takes is a strong demand to warrant a run of them.

With the current cost of 45 ammo and having just bought a Kimber 1911 TLE/RL I am finding that now I REALLY want a 9mm 1911.

If it as good as other SIGs and either a 4' or 5' model I'd jump at the chance for a GSR-9. Kimber, SA, and STI seem to be filling some demand.

I just handled a Revolution at the shop. I would certainly buy a 9mm Revolution from SIG

Actually I really like 9mm 1911's for cheap shooting and have a couple Colts and a Springfield Armory in 9mm...but if you really want cheap one ought to purchase a .22 conversion kit for their 45acp 1911's.

Even though I enjoy my 9mm 1911's they get no where near the firing as my 45 acp 1911's.

I have a few Colt 1911's in 9mm - Commander and Govt size - LOVE them. I would buy a Sig 9mm 1911 in a heartbeat.

I would be very interested in this. Single stack or can you make the frame take a double stack mag.

I have exactly the same, but wouldn't be interested in a Sig 9mm 1911. I would love a brand new Colt XSE 9mm gov't though, or a Gold Cup, or Series 70 in a minute.

If the Internet traffic on guns and caliber conversions is any indication, SIG and many other makers are missing the boat on 1911 pattern 9mms.
