Like the title says -

I've got a P-229 Enhanced Elite (California model).
Is it possible to mill the slide for a red dot sight mounting without doing any internal damage ?
If the reason for the question isn't obvious, the CA. version (maybe more ?) has "loaded" indicator bar in the slide and will have to be removed.
Is there anything else that would cause problems for the proper working of the slide ?

Shouldn’t be an issue. There is usually a cover plate that sits under the RMR; this keeps the safety lock spring in the correct place to maintain function. Some 229 slides may have internal lightening cuts which could become visible in the RMR cutout.
