Any recommendations for mild recoil, unjacketed bullet 44 Special ammunition?

At the moment I'm just looking for factory or factory "remanufactured" ammunition, not handloading it myself.

I thought that Atlanta Arms and Ammo had 44Spec. Cowboy loads, but no joy. Georgia Arms and Ammo does have one 200 grain, 750 FPS, flat nose Cowboy Load. Then again shipping from here (GA) to there (CO) may not be the best. I would maybe call the folks in Social Circle (Atlanta A&A) to see if they have a load that is not listed.

Yep GA is probably your best bet. If you are goin gto shoot CAS though, you are goin gto have to reload to afford to shoot enough. I used to go thru 3000 45colt every month when the wife & I were competing (she would NOT shoot a 38sp).

IF YOU AREN'T HANDLOADING, YOU AREN'T SHOOTING ENOUGH! If you could make your own gas, wouldn't you???

At last! A question I can answer for someone! (I am fairly new to this hobby)

I have been using MagTech 240 grain .44 special in my model 629. Very mild recoil, and very reasonably price. It's non-jacketed, yet I have yet to have significant lead to clean out of the barrel when cleaning the weapon.

I really love this ammo for casual target practice - very mild...

I've used Ultramax:

http://www.ultramaxammunition.com/cowboy.php

It's not cheap, but it's all new components (some of their ammo isn't) in 44 Special and I called and asked what kind of brass they use, and they told me usually Starline, but sometimes Win or (I can't remember-but it was a name brand). I only wanted to know as I intended to reload it and it was a better deal for me to buy it loaded, shoot it once, and then reload it that buying the components seperately.

I've been pleased. Can't remember if I got it from Midway, Natchez, or Graf's.

And thank you for your answer. Although it's good to know where to buy ammo and I appreciate that information, that wasn't my purpose in posting in this section. At this moment I am more interested in evaluations than sources.
