does anyone know the difference between the p40hst2 ammoman sells and the ones i see that are the "tactical" p40hst2? they both have the same model number but the ones ammoman sells doesnt say tactical, it just says premium. thanks all

I would go with the new stuff I shot two boxes of the HST2 in 147 tonight its a nice load and no wimp for sure thats a 9mm load but I am looking at some 165 for my 40 also

I sale Federal and Winchester LE ammo.

HST first were introduced in the Classic line. If you find any it is not for LE or carry use. It looked great in jello but did not perform well on the streets.

Federal moved the HST to the Premium line in 2004 or 2005. My memory is not as good these days.

Late in 2006 Federal Decided to concentrate of of their LE ammo into the Tactical line.

Their is nothing wrong with the Premium marked ammo and since it should last close to 100 years I would not worry if it was made in 2006 or 2008.

is there a way to tell when Federal made the ammo... is it on the box somewhere ?

Calling the factory with the lot numbers is the only way to get the date.

The reject HST was marked not for LE use. Most of that stuff has already been shot off by now.
