Whatever is cheapest? or cleanest? or whatever goes bang?

Although not the cheapest, WWB seems to be plentiful at stores near me.

I like both Speer Lawman and Remington. The Remington seems a little cleaner, but Speer has been a bit less expensive of late. Remington makes the UMC brand as well and it seems identical, but I haven't found it in some time.

Federal American Eagle is so dirty that I won't shoot it except as a very last resort.

GeorgiaArms makes a very good practice round. Not full power but very accurate & affordable.

I usually use UMC or WWB for practice due to the availability, but prefer UMC. It seems to have some more power than the WWB and is a bit cleaner. Its also pretty flashy.

BUT you still have to recoup that money spent on the new barrel and 9mm is no where as fun as shooting the 357. You might as well put a .22 conversion on the weapon then.

Normally, I just shoot WWB, however, Remington's ammo is pretty clean stuff.

I haven't sat down and compared the various brands in price though. And, from what I've seen, WWB is generally the most readily available.

I have shot quite a bit of Sellier & Bellot FMJ and I recently bought a bunch of Speer Lawman FMJ. Carry ammo is Doubletap 125gr GoldDot at pretty high velocity.

I just shot 200 rounds of the Georgia Arms .357 Sig. Just as good or better than WWB and a lot cleaner. Cost is $1.25 cheaper per box. I will get more but also want to try the Lawman, maybe I'll get 500 of each to test, cost is about the same.

Well that's $200+. For that, you can shoot 3000rds of GA ammo (diff. between 9mm & 357sig). For $200, you can buy a Lee turret setup & start loading your own. Confused

Ammoman.com sell 1000rds of 357Sig 125 grain TMJ Speer Lawman for $289 shipped to your door. For factory new ammo, I doubt you can beat the price.

When .357 SIG came out and all of it was horribly expensive, someone here recommended Georgia Arms. I think about half of us put in an order for 500 rounds, and he probably owes a debt of gratitude to SIGForum for helping him grow his business. Back in thoose days the used brass for .357SIG was so rare, all the GA Canned heat I bought was new manufactured ammo.

It was because of that experience, I started buying other calibers from him.

Good Stuff!

every once in a while, a local gunshop here sells repackaged speer gold dots (deemed unfit for self protection). they used to go for $60 for 250 rounds. I haven't ran into a dud yet Big Grin. otherwise, I'd go with speer lawman too.
