Since I bought my first 9mm 26 or 27 years ago I have never stopped liking it. I have multiple 9mms, 40s and 45 ACPs and like all three a lot.

No P210 I take it? Razz

9mm will handle a lot of things up to medium game without restricting capacity or weight.

Well that would be your only choice, but really, best all-round, quite a stretch though. Time to put down the 9mm Koolaid. Roll Eyes
A decent round within it's limits, but any revolver round beats it for hunting & except for the pricey P210, any target work too. Barely enough power as a SD round, not a good choice for hunting, maybe a good coyote round, but I find it lacking even on big jackrabbits unless you use light high vel JHP. Wink The 9mm best attributes, low recoil & lots of bullets.
If they ever get around to a national 10rd mag ban, the 9mm will lose quite a bit of favor in full size guns. Like I said, I like it in a G26 or sim. paltform, but w/ only 10rds, I want more gas than the 9mm delivers. Big Grin

I never got away from 9mm even though I prefer .45. I think the 9mm has plenty of power as a self defense round.

I love the 9mm for all of those reasons, too.

The reasons listed above is why I said it's the best round. I didn't consider hunting as one of the criteria in my assessment.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor - he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation - he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city - he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. ∑ Cicero, 42 B.C.

OK...so I see this post in Gun Test Magazine where Ray Ordoica goes off on the 9mm as one of those remarks as to "why would anyone carry one if you could carry anything else" kind of comments.

Really annoying.

No need to warm back up. It's always been my favorite. I have a West German 226 and a German 228 in 9mm that I wouldn't part with.

I also have a 239 in 357 SIG, but the cost of ammo for it is prohibitive to shooting hundreds of rounds every weekend. No room in my apartment for a reloading rig, either. That one...I'm thinking about parting ways with.

I was a confirmed big bore and magnum fan for many years. In 1990, I bought a 9mm and discovered I shot it better than anything previously owned. I've been sold on 9mm ever since then. I've also found the .38 Special revolver is a joy to shoot. And the +P versions of both the 9mm and the .38 are more than adequate for self defense--powerful enough and easier to place on target quickly.

Another " I never left!". In my case it's mostly due to the platform , BHPs.

Yes I'm a fan of 9mm. Although I prefer to carry a larger cal. for self defence, sometimes I just want to throw a small sub compact gun in my pocket just to have with me, and 9mm is the lowest I will go. Maybe some day I will warm up to the .380, but I have not as of yet.
