Take this for what it is worth: but I vaguely remember reading an article about the Secret Service Sig 228 9mm's back in some Gunrag about a dozen years ago. I am pretty sure the author said Remington 115gr. JHP +P+.

well, no, I don't know. Probably some off the shelves LE bonded rounds. There're not that many choices in this market, Win Ranger or PDX1, Federal HST, and of course, Gold dot. Maybe even Golden Sabre. You can't really tell one from another based on performance now aday...

By the way, I thought the USSS use P229 in 357 Sig. But I could be wrong...

Just my $.02

???????

The USSS used the P228 long before the 357 SIG was ever thought of. They transitioned to the P229 long after the P228s service record with them stretched a decade and a half.

Before that they used Smith and Wesson K frame revolvers and J frames. Their .38 Special load was the 158 grain Lead semi wadcutter plus P manufactured by Federal (38H). It was dubbed the "Treasury Load" from the use of the service.

I thought the 158 grain load was known as the FBI load and the 110 grain load was the Treasury load?

Yeah, the "Treasury Load" is the 110gr+P+ .38spec. The "FBI Load" is the 158gr+P LSWCHP in 38spec.

USSS uses the 125gr Winchester Ranger Talon, which does not meet FBI criteria. Go figure.
