I am getting a 336 marlin for deer season and thinking of these two Leverlution or the Barnes load DPX what do you guys think? My dad uses the Lever ammo says it shoots like a dang laser. I was only thinking of barnes load cause of the solid copper slug.

The Leverevolution ammo gets great reviews. Basically conventional bullets with the rubber ballistically-efficient tips. I haven't used it (because I reload and cant get the LR bullets seperately), but deer are not that hard to take down and the LR bullets should do excellent. Why exactly does one need solid copper bullets for "deer"? The Barnes are great bullets, but seem overkill for deer (unless you are getting some great price or something).

I don't know what Barnes bullet you're thinking of using but I believe that Hornady created the Leverlution bullet line so that the tube fed rifles could use a pointy aerodynamic bullet without worrying about the primers being punctured in the tube under recoil. Those bullets were designed to give you a longer and flatter trajectory. If you're hunting in a desnse forest, it probably doesn't matter.
