It was mainly a higher powered 9mm for cracking major power factor loading in IPSC and related gun games. It is popular in nations where the 9mm Luger is verboten.

The 9x23 is an amazing cartridge with a cult following. It has a very flat recoil signature making it a very easy round to shoot for the power involved. It is also very flat shooting.
Terminal ballistics wise - it is amazing. I've seen/heard about folks shot with the Corbon offering and the wounds more closely resembled rifles than pistols given the velocity inherent in the loading. AKA John E.
