All things considered. Yea I know!!! A 22 mag; it that or nothing for my wife.

What round for use in the Black Widow 2” or shorter? I’ve looked into Federal/Speer TNT, Speer Game Point JSP, Winchester Super-X JHP and the Winchester Supreme JHP. Of these does any one have experience or ballistic info to offer???

I have debated cutting off the front lead nose to flatted the round to increase blunt trauma.

Thanks and be safe

Welcome aboard.

There is no 22WMR ammo made just for the small revolvers, so try to find the 40+ grain, heavier bullets. Something like Win Super-X or CCI Maxi-mag. I use the CCI's in mine.

You will not get anything near the rifle velocities from the NAA revolvers. You'll be lucky to get 1000 fps from the black widow. I have the smaller one, and get around 980fps.

Using a rimfire for self-defense, be sure to rotate your carry ammo more frequently. The rimfire priming system is more prone to failure due to the constant exposure to temp cycles of carry ammo. I'd change it at least every 3-6 months.

Man, that stuff is loud from those little revolvers!

I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.
