I went to gunbrokeyou dot com, clicked on ammunition, selected pistol.

The listing returned what looks like all the stinkin ammo these crooks have been scooping up to resale. Federal 22 value packs? come on we know this is packaged for walmart at ($13.47 at my walmart) - listing on gunbroke for $30 and up? I see all the stuff we should see at walmart, same packages and everything (Federal and Winchester). I sure hope nobody is buying this stuff like this.

Something tells me there is about to be a flood of restocked shelves when this stuff stops moving this way.

Its fun to walk a gunshow and see the obvious Wallyworld purchases. The 550s we buy for $13.47 + tax are up with an asking price of $22 to $25 now. You pay a premium for not taking a chance on them being out of stock. There's nothing wrong with you driving the 10 miles just to see if they've got any. Its a hard decision to make. A bird in the hand for higher bucks, a bunch of them in the bush for less.

So what it comes down to is planning ahead. Do you have the disposable income to invest in ammo the next time you see it? Do you have the ability to make a decision and spend the bucks on a years supply? Or do you feel ammo is like beer or gasoline, you'll just buy it as you need it.

I'm not against someone trying to make a profit. Its not a dirty word in my book. If you want it now, you should be willing to pay the asking price. The vendors with the ammo put their time, effort, and money on the line. Now they demand a return. Sour grapes doesn't cut it. Pay up or shut up is the game.

I won't be seen selling any ammo I have a gun that it can be fired in! Smile No man has enough ammo, ever. Some is good, more is better, too much is just right.

Its why my ammo isn't an investment. Its hoarding, plain and simple. I've got the disease, and I have no desire to be cured of it.

But I admire anyone stupid enough to sell their ammo. At a profit, too!

I'd be surprised it any of the people selling ammo around here are gun enthusiast. Freaking incredible, some people are asking upwards of $50 for 100rd .45acp packs. Good thing I'm well stocked on most calibers, except 38spl since I just bought a GP100 (first revolver). Now the hunt begins for at least 1k rounds of 38spl.

Been to a few gun shows and have seen the boxes of .45 WWB and 9mm Blazer on the tables, while the local Wallyworld shelves are empty.

But I also see people who eat more food than they should, and drive cars they cannot afford, or have more debt than any reasonable person does, and I look at it all the same way.

Their life, their money and their right to pursue happiness as they define it.

What I have trouble with, are people who think that any of that is "wrong".

What part of the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is so difficult to comprehend?

And once in a while, Wallyworld has ammo, and I buy it at there everyday low prices...

Both the WM's in my area have bare shelves. They are getting small amounts of rifle and handgun ammo.

In this area, it's pretty obvious large amounts of the WM ammo is showing up in a couple small "Mom & Pop" Gun shops.

And that is the way it goes.Do I like it-no!But just look at the price of gasoline.Ammo I always keep a reasonable stock on hand for those calibers I shoot. This will in time pass. The next time give it some thought as to what you will need and buy enough to give yourself a reasoable on hand stock.Like it or not thats the way it is.Shoot with a desire to be accurate not see how much noise that you can make in a short time. Will

I hope ammo starts popping up in WM soon, I saw 2 cases of .40 cal about a month ago, but didn't need it because I had about 500 rounds left and only have 1 .40 caliber handgun. I haven't bought ammo in over a year and a half or so. I had always kept a large amount and bought 1,000 rounds at a time. However my stock is dwindling and I'm hoping to start replacing it. I am down to 350 rounds of .45acp, 100 rounds of .357 mag, and 400 rounds of 9mm, and 300 rounds of .40. So about 2, maybe 3 range trips.....

I went out to NW Texas a couple of weeks ago to see a buddy who had a table at a medium sized show. He was selling some revolvers and had some old ammo, mostly pre60s. It was humorous to hear the comments from some of the older guys walking by who obviously had not been gun shopping for years. "Sho' have gone up since I last bought a Smith" or "Who you tryin' to rip off with them prices? I bought one of those for 80 bucks back in '65." Since I wasn't from around there and not worried about whether I pissed one of them off or not, after about the 2nd comment, I asked each guy how much he paid for gas or bread back then. Guns and ammo are commodities and aren't subject to price freezes. I told a couple of them that if he didn't buy it now, they were bound to go up due to the devaluation of the dollar on a daily basis. Them's the facts.

I won't buy any Wal-Mart ammo from anyone other than WM. Let those buying at WM and then trying to re-sell and x2 or x3 what they paid stick it their [fill in blank]. Those turds won't get my money.

I still have all my sale receipts. I have one for a brand new S&W Model 28 for $135.00. So would $150.00 be a fair price to offer today?

Without getting into another free enterprise discussion ~ the gunshow dealer is not a crook ~ at least because they sell something more than WM.

Its wal mart that is missing the boat here. Whoever is running the walmart sporting goods battleship needs to summarily fired. Instead of rationing out ammo 6 boxes at a time and constantly being out of stock they should be demanding their suppliers and ultimately the manufacturers keep up with the customers demand for product.
