There is no cheap way. UPS and Fed Ex ground are your options.

I use FedEx ground, and everytime I have shipped them I have had different experience, even with the same counter rep.

Usually the "you cannot ship ammo, until I point out that I can and ask them to call and provide me with the FedEx policy which states I cannot.

I take the printerd policy (see below) from their site which states I may, and that is usually that.

I had one rep ask me if I had my FFL license and I told her I had my CCW and she said, "That's the same thing" and took the package."

I make sure I have an "ORM-D" label on it and have had no trouble shipping them.

Hope that helps.

FedEx Express will transport ammunition when packed and labeled in compliance with local, state and federal law, and the Dangerous Goods section of this Service Guide. Ammunition is an explosive and must be shipped separately as dangerous goods. You agree not to ship loaded firearms or firearms with ammunition in the same package.

Use the online UPS / FedEx shipping calculators to estimate shipping cost.

For me UPS is about $12 for 2 boxes of 124 gr 9mm to most places and $16 for 5 boxes. Rough estimate.

There is no cheap way to do it. UPS or Fed EX. Be prepared to deal with the dummies working the counter who will likely tell you that they don't ship ammo. Had it happen more than once. Had to have manager come out and school the dummies at the counter.

Go to the main UPS or FEDEX hub branches. Don't go to the corner UPS "store"...

And if you do, do not tell us about it. I'm sure the USPS is the third largest shipper of ammo in the us,even though they do not want to be.
