I was wondering if anyone is measuring accuracy of Lake City M855 and M193. If so, what are you guys getting for groups?

I've not measured off a bench, but i have always had good results with Lake City ammo.

Eh, if I don't hit what I'm aiming at with the first shot, I just send three or 29 more after it.
I tend to use the stuff for plinking, but I've found it plenty accurate for 100 yard shooting. -ShneaSIG There's no such thing as too many P226s. |

Well, I've been poking around a bit and found this.
http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/edu8.htm I was a little surprised that Don only managed a 2 3/4 inch group at 100 yards with his DPMS sweet sixteen (rested, with Leupold 6.5 - 20 x 50mm scope). I guess that this is an indication of the abilities of Federal XM193. "Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive." - William F. Buckley, Jr. |

I have never shot XM193 for groups, but when zeroing my 14.5" AR with an Aimpoint using the stuff, even a half-assed effort gave me 3" to 4" groups at 100 yards.
I suspect that this was more due to the imprecise sighting arrangement (non-magnified, 4moa red dot) than indicative of the true accuracy of the ammo. I suspect that with sights better suited to shooting groups at 100 yards, 1.5" to 2" groups, at least, could be expected. __________________________ Ohhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm! |
