They did for me. They did not really have to do anything but they stood right up and helped me feel a lot better. I also learned a lot thats to FedDC. I appreciate his heads up and sharing his knowledge. I would have continued to buy AAC because they make one HELLUVA product and I've known Kevin forever though he most likely doesn't even know my name. I appreciate the guys I spoke with at AAC and the way they handled my issue. Stand up guys and gals.

Well, it sounds like their CS can be great when it wants to be so hopefully, they will step up and make this right.

I just took possession of my M4-2000 08 a couple of weeks ago. I actually forgot about this thread. My can was manufactured with baffles like the ones in the top photo. So far I only have a couple of hundred rounds through it and I'm really enjoying it. I'm currently using it on a 10.5" LMT.

They are friendly but take quite a while to ship items. Still waiting....

Sincerely...

When you are buying something as serious as an NFA item, it is your responsibility to know what you are getting.

INSPECT WHAT YOU ARE BUYING BEFORE YOU GET SIGNATURES, PHOTOS, FORMS, $200, ETC!!!!!

If you didn't know any better it's your own damn fault!

This isn't everyday typical stuff you return. KNOW WHAT YOU"RE BUYING!!!

If a can breaks or is unsafe because of the manufacturer, it's their responsibility. If it's not the color you want, or doesn't have the baffles you want it's your fault. Don't buy it if you don't like it.

Then...if you don't know the difference until after you buy it, keep your mouth shut.

You heard you could have the better model and paid less if you got it somewhere else, or if it was advertised differently...

If you don't like the way AAC does business, don't buy from them. Don't sit around and complain about how cool their product is and how much you don't like them at the same time. Either buy or don't buy. You're the boss of your own life. As the boss of your life and YOUR tax stamp, YOU (yes YOU) are responsible for what you buy.

If you don't like it, buy something else. Or don't buy. You're the boss.

Josh, thanks for the tirade. I did do my research and knew what I wanted. I then talked to the manufacturer about the defining characteristics of that model, saw photos to prove that I was buying something with those defining characteristics and then made my purchase.

It was not possible to inspect the can as NO ONE in Central OH had one in stock. I saw one at a shoot and liked the features, lack of blowback and the suppression levels. I ordered what I wanted from reputable dealers and received something different.

My problem is that the information on the difference between the models is not clearly laid out by AAC and still is not.

If you ask four (4) dealers about the difference between a 07 version of the M4-2000 and the 08 version of the M4-2000 you will get five (5) answers. I even got several different answers from personnel at AAC. It was through some extreme persistence that I now know the differences.

I still like AAC products and have quite a few. Will I buy other manufactures because of this? Perhaps.

Then the free market will let AAC know where you stand. Unfortunately they are joining the boat of HK and KAC, and are letting you know that they called to say they hate you.

Maybe buying from a middle man like major malfunction might help if you have to order something?

Well, ordering from someone you trust who can inspect it for you, etc...someone who has an inspection period policy...so you don't get stuck with something you don't want.

I see what you are saying but in this case it would not have mattered. The dealer is well known and thought that they were selling M4-2000 08 versions. They were mistaken and I believe completely that it was an honest mistake. Even if they had looked at it, which they did, and taken photographs, which they did, I still would have purchased the suppressors because we were all operating under erroneous information from AAC. In talking with different dealers I am not the only one that this happened to.

Once I found out what happened I simply wanted AAC to have some difinitive information on the differences and what to look for so that there is less confusion about this.

This is correct. The fault here lies with AAC for marking the cans as 08 models when they had 07 internals.

There should have been a notice or model differentiation to clearly identify the ones with 07 internals.

Instead, they marked everything the same...both the 07 and 08 internals.

That is on AAC, not the buyer.

I am resurrecting this to see if I can get Mike Mers to ship the parts that have been promised for the better part of a year.

I will bump this once a week until the parts promised have arrived. And yes, these parts were promised in lieu of fixing both of my cans which has been discussed here.

Still do not have my package. Last promise was that it shipped to me on the 15th or 16th of this month.

I agree but I have come to terms with it. What I am having a problem with is that I have been promised some parts as part of this back in February, told multiple (by multiple I mean way more than 5) times that they were shipped but yet I do not have them. Nor have I ever received a tracking number or any proof of delivery. I may not be the fastest person around but I suspect that they have not been shipped.
