Got this in a few weeks ago and finally got around to snapping a couple of shots of it. One of the shots is not mine but a nice shot of the Silencer and Flash hider that I found on the net. The P6 in the pic is new to me as well.

Not my picture but someone took a nice one of the same Silencer.

i've noticed my blackout flash hider acts like a tuning fork. every time the bolt slams forward the thing has a high pitch ring. it does make it easy to install the can though.

does aac really mill "front toward enemy" and the arrow on their cans?

It's not on the M4-1000, hence the savings... I'm glad they do have "Front Toward Enemy" on there. Old age is getting to me and sometimes I get confused and...

try and screw it on upside down. Razz

Every bit worth the money. Now for a SWR .22 can.

Uhg, just got one and put it on.

I have an old M4-2000 that doesn't have the thumpad lock. It came with an A2 Birdcage style flash suppressor.

Just got another flash suppressor for it and it's the three prong design (same design as above, but with fewer locking teeth). I hate that "piiiiiiiinnnnnnng" sound you get with each shot.

It's even noticeable with the suppressor on. Maybe I'll get used to it, but intially it is annoying.

I have the '07 model. But it use the same exact 3-prong attachment. I do hate the piiiing sound.

Off topic, one thing I don't like with suppressor + SBR is that excessive gas that blows back to my face. I already installed that PRI gas buster thing. I didn't help much. Anyone have any suggestion how to lessen that gas blowback to my face?

Really? And you're still getting that much blowback? I found it to be significantly improved on the rifle I tried. I would estimate less than 50% of the gas between that and my DI SBRs..

Still get it some with the Sig rifle too. I have this on my 556. I got more blow back with the M4-1000. I even found the vaporized copper in the magazines. Just part of it. I have yet to try it with the gas off. That setting is not official and does not lock into place so I probably never will for safety sake.

It's better with a piston upper than a DI upper, but you still get lots of dirty gas down the barrel.

You can use some high temp RTV silicon around the charging handle and the rear of the receiver. But really, what's a little 'dirt' in the face, I guess if it gets too bad you can cover it with your skirt... Razz

It's not the dirt on my face that bothers me. It's the gas that goes into my eyes. I have to stop shooting after few rounds. My current shooting glass doesn't cover my eyes very well. Makes me want to use swimming goggles.

I have an LMT MRP upper with 10.5" barrel running a AAC M4 2007 suppressor and have very little blowback. Oh, I like the pinging noise!

The pics are of an '07 M4-2000. The 08 has 5 baffles and better sound reduction as well as lower back pressure. The pic is of the three baffle 07 baffle stack. If you paid the money for an 08 you got taken... sorry.

What pics are you talking about? The only pics that actually claim to be an 08 sure look like my 08s

The picture of a flat baffle with a scallop is an 07 baffle design... when you see testing of 08 M42Ks such as on silencerresearch.com its the 5 baffle design which has a conical blast baffle. You may have bought the can in 08 but it is an 07 baffle design, has a bit more back pressure and less sound reduction.

Hmmm, I will have to look at the blast baffles on mine. I thought that only the 08 used the 51-tooth mount.
