Guys, anyone have experience shooting a suppressed P226? I've got the paperwork in on a Yankee Hill 9mm can that I'll be using primarily on an Olympic 9mm AR platform.
I'd also like to use it on a pistol, however. The can comes with the Neilsen Device, for use on a pistol with the Sig's type of locking system. Another question, I know that the 226 "Tactical" exists with a threaded barrel, but does Sig offer a threaded "accessory" barrel, that can be dropped into a 226? Or, is there an aftermarket supplier that has worked well for anyone? I realize the sights won't be tall enough, in most cases, but if it functions well suppressed, and the accuracy holds up, it may be worth fitting something like taller, adjustable LPA's to see over the can. Anyway, thanks in advance for anything you've got. see ya |

Thanks, Dave. I did see that after I posted. I'd like a 1/2X28 thread on it, though.
More searching (after the post, of course!) revealed that Jarvis and Bar Sto make threaded barrels, as well. Any experience with those, or others that I'm not aware of? Thanks |

I have shot both but own neither. I have a 226R and I am planning on just buying the factory threaded barrel. I am also in the process of buying a 226 Combat which is set up the same way

Thanks. There must be a "thread adapter" of some sort to go from the factory metric to 1/2X28?
I'll check with Yankee Hill. see ya |

I have a 226R Stainless 9mm with a drop-in Sig factory threaded barrel. I use a SWR Trident on mine. The primary reason I bought the Trident is because you can easily change the thread adaptor to accomodate different barrel threads. You can also buy an adaptor to replace the recoil booster to adapt the can to an Uzi or a 9mm AR platform. The Trident is very versatile. I'm not familiar with Yankee Hill suppressors. If you haven't purchased a suppressor yet, I would look at the SWR Trident. As far as sights go, I replaced the factory sights with a set of adjustable Meprolite. They are high enough to just get past the top of the suppressor. I beleive the front post is .310" high.

I just picked up my Trident yesterday, and will be trying it out Tomarrow at the range. I too like thoe modular it is. I have the LID right now in metric for SiG, and will probably get the 1/2-28 coupler and 3 lug so it will mate to almost everything I have.
You might have to wait a bit longer for a SWR or AAC, but they build the best, and class 3 is really for patient people. WANTED : True SUBCOMPACT SiG 9mm or 40 A 9mm in MY Hand is better than a 45 at home. SIG P-239 357.. The Modern Martial Arts Pair of 226 Navy's |

Just returned from the range, and put maybe 50 rounds through the SWR Trident 9, and its simply amazing.
I am using a fiber optic front sight, factory rear, and even though the can obscures them a bit, I can use the shoot through aproach, and was keeping all shots within 6" at 15 or so yards.
