After browsing this forum, I've come to love the look of a can on a SIG. I just picked up a new P228R which I'm debating whether it's worth it to begin the process of getting a suppressor for, not sure if the gun would look to small for a suppressor.
Either way I'd love to see pics of any and all suppressed/silenced SIGs, post 'em up! |

Here is the one I have a pic of right now.
If you live in a free state get a suppressor. The paperwork is really not bad and is really pretty easy if you have someone who has been through the process to help you. The wait is the killer. Good luck This message has been edited. Last edited by: bdavis, |

Very nice looking gun, I believe it's an X-Five? I live in CT now which, from what I can tell, does allow the purchase of suppressors... used to live in SC, definitely miss certain aspects of their gun laws when compared to CT. Since this is a picture thread, I'll post up a picture - not mine by any means, but looks nice all the same Sig 220 Combat with a suppressor. |

Ok, here are some pics to see if you can decide to suppress or not.
220Combat with AAC Evo 45 Larger pistol and suppressor than the 228 and 9mm can. 226 X5 with Evo 9 Larger Pistol with a good 9mm can. 226 with AAC Evo 9. Slightly larger pistol with good 9mm can. P6 with Evo 9. Smaller pistol than the 228 with the same can as on the above 2 pistols. My point in showing these is that the can works well on all of these pistols and I do not think the can looks too large even on the relatively small P6. EYEHAVEYOU - yes that is an x5 Tactical Threaded barrel with some doctoring due to a request for a pic a while ago. Good luck. This message has been edited. Last edited by: bdavis, |

bdavis - I really like your setups
And I agree that the process isn't really that bad and is definately worth it. I bought a 22 can last year and my 9 Trident should be in pretty soon. The wait is a killer though! ___________________________________ No, it's a cardigan... but thanks for noticing |

I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past me I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. -- |

Thanks for sharing the pictures bdavis - I actually like the look of the P6 with the can.. if you ever get a chance, I know I'd like to see a picture of your 220 combat and P6, both with suppressors on, next to one another (maybe top to top?). Makes me think my fatter 228 with a rail might look good suppressed too...
Have to say though, both 220 combat's look the best surpressed... just watched a video of one on youtube, quieter than I'd imagine (on crappy quality video at least). |

Not top to top but about every other way. Sorry for only half reading your post. I always love seeing the pic of Parabellum's suppressed Sport Stock 226s Good luck |

bdavis, tell me about your threaded P6 barrel. Did you have the factory barrel extended and threaded, or did you find an threaded barrel somewhere. I have a P6, and I suspect it would make a great host (I have G19 and XD9 hosts now for my Evo 9)

It was purchased as part of a group buy through Barsto. You may be able to call The Shooting Edge as I think they bought a number of the barrels. If you cannot find a barrel through Barsto call Tornado Technologies or ADCO Firearms and they can make a threaded extension for your factory barrel. Good luck |

Thanks for the pics, the angles you took them from still work well for comparison purposes. I'll have to make a decision at some point, whether it's worth buying a new factory threaded barrel for the P228 or just buying a new Sig with a TB. I have a feeling I will probably end up doing both. And parabellum, those 226's are gorgeous. I like the look of those adjustable sights. This thread has been great so far, thanks everyone for posting up your cans |

I buy cans for sound reduction, which handily negates aesthetics. If it's simply for looks, get a cheap fake suppressor: no wait, no tax stamp, no sign-off by CLEO or trust. |

I certainly appreciate the aesthetics (after all, it was the reason for this thread in the first place) but it was the benefits of sound reduction that attracts me to suppressors in the first place. I currently live on enough land to legally shoot outdoors, however I have no doubt the neighbors would still hear the shots and complain. As I understand it, I would be in the clear so long as notified the local PD before shooting (and it wasn't at some ungodly hour). However I could avoid the whole "upset neighbor" thing if I had a suppressor. At least that's my rationale, it doesn't hurt that I think suppressed guns' sound (or lack of sound) is downright awesome. |
