Do you know what the “adapter” is that he’s referring to that evidently allows attaching the oil filter to the pistol barrel? Is that some commercially available product?

A few companies have made them, but the ATF changing the rules on what's considered "suppressor parts" and requiring an FFL/SOT to "make repairs" (aka change the filter) made them no longer commercially viable.
