Unfortunately Sig doesn't consider the sight clearance on their "tactical" (threaded barrel) weapons as does H&K. All of HK's threaded barrel weapons are fitted with application specific sites.

The P226 Tactical, P226 Combat, as well as several other pistols that Sig offers with factory threaded barrels, come with standard height sites that are obscured while a suppressor is attached. Yes, you can guesstimate your targeting, but it would be nice if Sig gave more thought to this on their weapons designed to take a suppressor.

I've been meaning to get a pair of night sites for my P226, but would like to get a pair that has a slightly increased sight clearance.

Anyone have night sites on a P226 that you also shoot suppressed? Trying to figure out what options are out there for such an application. Ideally, it'd be nice to find a raised sight system that utilized a fiber for day and tritium for night time use. I've seen this on rifles, but not on pistol sights. I know, I know, I'm being overly greedy now! Big Grin

Look forward to hearing back from someone with experience and what was their solution? Thanks! Smile

Thanks for the replies Jim and Jeep! I just went to the Ameriglo site (Thanks Jim) and they don't have a picture of the SG-181 which is listed specifically as, "SIG Suppressor Night Sights". I'm assuming that's what is on your P226, right Jeep?

Next question, are there any SigForum members who are Ameriglo dealers? Like to keep it in the family whenever possible.

Thanks guys.

I ordered mine directly from AmeriGlow. I had to call them and order the sights, they were not avaliable to order online.

The rear sight went in like any other sight, the front needed some 'fitting'. I stoned the bottom of the sight until it sat low enough in the dove tail on the slide. I didn't use a standard sight pushed, I was worried about breaking off the blade from the base. I had a Meprolight universal sight pusher that allowed me to push on the base of the sight to fit it into the dove tail. It was the hardest sight install I've ever done.

I also ordered mine directly from Ameriglo because I couldn't find the raised, non-tritium sights for my G22.
Great people to deal with. Great service after.

Since I don't own a sight pusher and Jeep Driver says, it's a real pain, I wonder if you can ship them your slide and have them install it? Anyone know?

Otherwise I'll give them a call next week.

Just bring me your slide and sights, I'll take them to the shop near me. Won't take them 10 minutes to install.

Hopefully my front sight was a fluke, but the front blade was out of spec for my stainless slide 226. It took a fair amount of fitting to get it into the dove tail on the slide.

Jeep, if you say it is so, I believe it.

Hopefully Euless Guns will be up to the task.
I believe the smith is certified in Sig, S&W, Winchester and others. The only thing they have run into (that I am aware of) was a .45 Kimber that fired full auto - they sent that one back to the factory. Don't blame them for that...Smile

They only sell quality weapons and have a full machine shop in the back. The owner and smith have a lifetime of experience, so if they can't do it LZ_226 is going to have to send the darn thing to YOU! hehe
