AFAIC this is still rumor, but I thought I'd give you all a heads up about this. It seems to be three months old or so.
Aparently, the BATFE has determined that Quick Detach Flash Hider Suppressor Adaptors are to be considered a suppressor part, and has ruled that manufacturers can only sell one with a suppressor. Personally, I have not been able to find one (Advanced Armament Corp.) from a retailer nor from AAC. YHM was given that determination by one examiner. It caused the recent run on LCD's. It hasnt been applied to any other manufacturers and probably won't be. It will likely be dropped on appeal.

Many are sold out because of demand, but they are available here:
http://politesocietyinc.com/cg...t/display.cgi?cat=43 Anyways unless this is recent change, this is in relation is suppressor pistons used in pistol caliber cans. ------- Mr. Doom and Gloom Tacti-cool: adj - Any technique, firearm, or accessory that a person disagrees with. QD Flash-hiders have been made available for sometime now since the initial stoppage:
http://yhm.net/store/Sound_Accessories.html The issue was concerning the pistons that the Nielsen device used to mount onto the barrel. An ATF examiner initially determined that these pistons (along with the QD flash-hiders) were "suppressor parts" and could not be sold to the "general public". The flash-hider bit was BS from the beginning, as they are ALSO flash-hiders, and one could use one without a suppressor. Hence why they are now available. Not sure when/if the pistons will be back or not. If you're not familiar with Nielsen devices/LIDS/LCDS, they are needed on suppressors that are mounted Browning-type action pistols (most semi-auto pistols today are "Browning-type"). YHM (and other manuf.) make suppressors that allow the end-user to swap out pistons of the Nielsen device, so the user can mount it on different pistols with different barrell thread pitches. |

Hmmm as long as they sell the LID with the suppressor in theory you should be good. As far as being able to take it off the suppressor it doesnt have any muffling features as mentioned in the USC so you should be good.

Not really. An endcap is an endcap and as such is a silencer part. Thats what the controversy is here. Problem is the LCD/LID/Nielsen device isnt really the end cap. For example if you look at a trident it has a barely noticeable end cap on the barrel side that the LCD screws into. It is loctited in and looks like a small rim at the end of the can. Just a sleeve really but IT is the end cap. Everyone else is still selling LCD's and the such. Its just YHM that is having the problem and it may have to do with the design of their cans.
