I'm trying to decide between these two different kinds of suppressors for the 10/22.

Does anyone have experience with both? Is it worth the extra money to get the integral suppressor?

I have the Oasis-R (this one is marked Sawtooth from Tactical Solutions, they make the barrel & Suppressor for Gem Tech)

I've always wanted an integral suppressed 10/22 and when a standard .920 became avaliable I jumped at it. Worth every penny! Install a Volquartsen bolt buffer and it's quieter then an air gun. I use CCI standard velocity ammo, and it's easily soda can accurate out to 50 yards.

I have a screw on can for my 22/45 that is very quiet as well. It's well worth the money to buy both.

I'd be hard pressed to choose a favorite. I like the flexablity of being to swap suppressor around to different host.

I have an outback 2 I fire regularly on a 10/22 and I have a friend with an oasis and I have fired them together quite often. I dont hear an appreciable difference between the two with subsonic ammo. The Oasis is hit or miss with standard velocity on whether it will go supersonic and there are times the same lot will crack or not from the same mag. My 19 inch bull barrel is pretty much guaranteed to go supersonic with standard velocity ammo. When they does go supersonic its very noticeable and "almost" doesnt sound like theres a can on there at all. .

How much below 1100 fps is the rated muzzle velocity of the standard .22LR ammo you find goes supersonic with your bull barrel? A lot of the stuff I've seen is rated at about 1050 or 1060 fps. I am curious if it is the length of the barrel, variation in the powder charges, or some combination of both?

federal 550 box walmart ammo is either transonic or supersonic. some shots are louder than others so its right on the line. Remington standard vel super . CCI standard vel and stinger is super. Remington sub is subsonic definitely. Remember that anything over 1000 fps to 1100 fps is in the transonic range and has its own distinct sound

Do you have a Ruger factory bull barrel? Did you go blued or stainless? Why did you go with the bull barrel? Does the bull barrel help with accuracy, give more stability for the can to attach to?

Was it expensive to have your bull barrel threaded for the Outback II?

Mine is a Butler creek barrel on a ruger action from a 10/22 my grandfather bought new in 1978. I did the threading and built the thread protector . I'd say it helps with accuracy although I still have the factory trigger on there which is the limiting factor IMHO . 2 inch group at 50 yards . Biggest reason for the bull barrel is to better match up with the lines of the suppressor. Mine was blued but I powder coated the barrel and receiver satin black epoxy. First pic is with my SWR warlock . Second pic is with the thread protector

CCI subsonic .22 LR.... 720fps. flawless and accurate as well as quiet in any configuration. Usually 7 bucks a box of 100. 7 cents a shot anit bad compared to my .308 EBR's at 1.52/shot for quiet rifle rounds.
