Also spoke with Rebekah about buying a P225 replacment barrel. She mentioned that there were some folks already working on a group buy on the sigforum. However, when I started to search, this thread did not jump out. Rebekah is outstanding and I am sure she would help take the deposits and coordinate the list. all we just need to identify those interested and get them to call with CC in hand. I would suggest that we start a "Bar-Sto P225 Group Buy" post.
Do you want to kick this off since you got the ball rolling?

Anyone interested?

Sir, I just spoke with Rebekah, 1658 my time. She advised me that if you could get 50, as you stated, with the deposit they would build them and it would take about 21 weeks or more. Now, she said you could make it a mix and match batch. They don't all have to be threaded just so long as you get a total of 50. You know more of these people than I do but I bet if you would post this in the Classifieds and in the Sig Pistol sections that you would have fifty in no time. She said ported, plain, or threaded just so long as it was 50 total.

Ok, I put a thread in the classifieds called
"P225 Threaded Barrel Buy thread" for anyone interested in aftermarket barrels for their P225/P6 pistol.
Please be serious. I would think this would be a good chance to demonstrate the power of Sigforum as a buying block and marketing opportunity.

Before you ask, no, they don't have any mags!!

Good luck getting all 50 to actually come through. Everyone gets excited but when it comes time to get the money we will see the "power of the Sig Forum as a buying block". lol

I also posted this in the classifieds thread here
But I wanted to cover my bases.
Email sig_p225@hotmail with what type of barrel you want (threaded, with or without a thread protector, or plain extended) and if threaded, what type of threads (1/2-28 Standard or 13.5-1 Metric). I am going to try to post some kind of running tally on my website. I'll post the URL when I get something put together.
Thanks for helping make this work.

Here is the latest email from Rebekah at BarSto. Please read this carefully. This should be all the details. I posted this here as a couple of emails bounced back to me when I sent out the bulk email.(if you wanted a barrel and didn't get an email from me, go ahead and call BarSto direct):

To place your order for a Sig 225 barrel, you need to contact me by phone with all your contact and payment information. If that somehow is not possible, please contact me at Barstoinfo@uia.net . We do not ship outside of the United States. When we receive all orders and payment, approximate wait time on the production of these barrel will be 16-18 weeks. If you do not want to wait that long, please let us know now. If you later decide to back out on your order, there will be a fee in order for us to refund your money. When you place the order, I need all the specs on the barrel. If you want it extended, threaded ( need the thread pitch ) , ported, 6 inch barrel or standard. Pricing goes as followed:

1) Standard barrel: $150.00

2) Extended barrel: $161.25

3) Threaded barrel: $161.25 plus $45.00 for threading, and $25.00 for the thread protector, if you want one.

4) 6 inch barrel: $198.75

5) Ported barrel: $161.25 plus $25.00 for ports.

Shipping charges are NOT included in prices above!

We require a deposit of half down when the order is placed!!

You have a choice between Semi Drop In ( SDI ) or Match Target ( MT ) barrels. 7 out of 10 times our SDI barrel drop right in, other times you may need some minor fitting. Our MT barrels are built oversized for gunsmith fitting. If you order the SDI barrel and it doesn't drop in, you can send the barrel and your slide in for a free fitting. The only thing we ask for is $18.00 for return shipping. If you order the MT barrel and you want us to do the fitting, the fitting charge is $175.00. We also require the cost of return shipping on the pistol which can be from $55.00 to $75.00.

You can start placing orders as of July 8th, 2008. Please have all order placed by August 4th, 2008. If we do not have all 50 orders by August 4th, we will not start production of these barrels at that time. As soon as we receive all 50 orders, we will begin to charge for the deposits.

Bar-Sto Precision Machine would like to thank you all for your business!

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thank you and have a great day!

I had David Saylors at liberty suppressors do a barrel extension threaded 1/2x28 for me on this one. Waiting on a SWR trident can. The P6 really doesnt look like it ever saw service. I havent even shot it yet but I know for a fact it will not load eagle 147 grain flat nose in the magazine. If I could just find a spare mag for it I'd be happy.

I might buy one, but can't commit right now.

This barrel will fit the P6 as well, correct?

You can try and see if Bar-Sto will take your order. My bet is they will continue to take orders until they actually start production. If not you can call The Shooting Edge since they ordered quite a few.

I was informed that BarSto would be making several "extras", but I don't know how many or what configuration. I would ASSUME the extras would be plain extended barrels since those could then be threaded, shortened to standard, ported or whatever.
But yes, at this point... contact BarSto

Did he do this to a standard barrel, or make a new barrel, extended for the threads for a suppressor?
