Recent graph on ATF wait times

ATF Wait Times

Current NFA wait times are hovering at about 11 months according to NFATracker.com. One of ASA's staff received an approval in the last two weeks that was postmarked to NFA on July 12, 2016. We've also spoken with several dealers that have received the last of their pre-41F submissions in the past few days.

In a conversation with ATF this week they confirmed that they should have the last remaining pre-41F forms processed in the next week. They anticipate wait times to begin dropping shortly.

Took me almost 1 full year, with a twist; submitted three forms in July 2016, just got my final 3rd stamp today. I did have two (2)minor corrections out of the 3 submittals. When I called to speak to someone, they picked up! I had a woman who handled the two forms that needed fixing, and she processed the corrections, had my stamps back out within a week.

The minor fixes: I had one OAL off by 0.5", although I took the measurements off the product description, and my FFL wrote "Copy" in highlighter on the front page of the second required original. I have multiple previous stamps, these were my first corrections.

Probably be a lot faster then you think... since we've hit that wall & things are clearing up from it. Wait times will be back down to 4-5 months tops !

SCAR Form 1 submitted 7-7-2016
Approved 7-7-2017

I believe it took longer than it had to, I forgot to verify after I paid tax stamp. Yesterday I looked on eforms and noticed that. I contacted ATF and they approved today.
