I just received an email from silencer shop today. I submitted my form 4 thru the kiosk about 3 weeks ago. My check just cleared today. I paid them the 200 bucks via credit card June 10th, so it took almost a month for them to convert it to a check, submit and the ATF to cash. Every time I self submitted, it took about a week from the time I mailed it. My wait starts 7/5/19 for my Octane 45 HD.

They aren’t going to send the ATF a check until the Form 4 is completely signed off by everyone, including the dealer who is going to hold the van in his/her jail. The check goes with the submitted Form 4, so that’s the time to look at, not when you gave SS the $200. Also, SS submits the forms in batches, not as they come in, so there is a little delay there. I’ve never worried about it since it currently takes 10 or so months to get approval. A couple of weeks more matters little.

Maybe they also wait to submit the Form 4 (and payment) until after the Form 3 to transfer to your dealer is approved?

Yeah, about 2 or 3 weeks lead from between when you sign the forms on the SS app and when they actually get submitted, in my experience. I've used SS 4x for Form 4 and Form 1.

E-form 1 filed today, July 7, for an SBR AK.

Hopefully I didn't screw anything up. I was using my completed Form 1s done by Silencer Shop as a guide.

In the near future I’m going to get my first suppressor, having finally moved to an NFA friendly state and it seems like the E-file kiosk is the way to go, there’s one in my town.

It is! I'm up to 26 stamps and contemplating a nice round 30 ... My Omega MP5SD, Omega MP5K and Ruger Charger could all stand to be SBR'd ... I'm sure it wouldn't take long to come up with something else ... Maybe another suppressor? Or maybe a 1919, beltfed's are pretty cool.

Have you received your actual stamp yet?

Two week after the approval came through via email and no stamp in the mail.

You can also get the PDF from the EFile site. This is what I did as I also had trouble with the attachment not showing up.

I got the pdf. I had assumed they'd send an actual real stamp along.

Nope. The see-through thing on the PDF is not nearly as nice as the real thing, but a whole lot faster!

Yeah, it’s the most expensive stamp I’ve ever paid for that I’ve never actually received ... but at least I have the benefit of it!

I guess I’m just thankful I do have a few actual stamps, some may never hold the actual stamp.
