nhracecraftIf you're talking about typical suppressor covers, they mitigate the heat signature/mirage which can affect sighting the target.
ETA - Just to be clear, they are NOT Full-Auto or Belt-Fed rated.

Some of them are pretty close, Rifles only HAD being one.
They cut down the mirage and heat from the suppressor.
