I saw a guy on youtube using this? Does it really make a differance? He said it made it "wet".

Some folks use it. I spray a little water in mine. Others swear by KY jelly or Vagisil.

Bower's makes a grease applicator for their .45 suppressor. A syringe like thing that applies it evenly. The problem with using grease s that if it is in the bore axis it can cause a baffle strike.

My experience using water indicates that a wet media does improve suppression. It has something to do with the shock wave vaporizing the wet media and thus mitigating some of the noise.

Using water is mess free, but grease can make an oily mess.

Huh, interesting.

We used to run AWC CQBs on our MP5s in the good old clanlab days. We started out using a concoction called "hydrogel" which we mixed ourselves from concentrate that looked like koolaid from some manufacturer. Later we used white lithium grease. AWC said it would work for our purpose. We also taped the muzzle of the can with duct tape.

At the last AAC Silencer shoot they had cases of "Suppressor Coolant" it was half liter bottles of water.

I use water based Wire Pulling Gel (the clear stuff, the yellow stuff is wax based). It doesn't evaporate, or drip out as easily, and it lasts longer then water. The disadvantage is that it's a royal pain to get in the gun.

I don't shoot pistol cans that much anymore, but I've been known to just lock back my Hk Tactical and pour water down the barrel to get coolant into the can.

There used to be a great photo on the net of a guy pouring Dr Pepper in his suppressor.

I always use water in a boostered can and ultra-sound gel in light weight small silencers.

I pour a little water into the ass-end of my YHM Cobra. I tried some grease once. It was very smoky and the blowback sucked.
