Though this might fall under the CCW category, it also falls under the suppressors category...

There is a lot of duplicity concerning suppressor laws...They are considered a firearm accessory, but registered as a NFA "weapon" (I know it is specifically registered as a "silencer" on an ATF Form, but when reading the NFA laws, they classify it as a "weapon.")

If it is considered a weapon of its own, laws applying to weapons in general along with the NFA and city and state laws would apply to it. But, if it is a firearm "accessory." Laws applying to accessories of firearms would apply, along with NFA, city and state laws...

In general, would it be legal to "carry" a suppressor with a firearm if you have a CCW?

I know this would be highly unadvisable, but nevertheless...I am merely curious whether or not it is possible to do.

I have a CCW for Ohio, and in Ohio, CCW only applies to handguns.

Would a suppressor be an accessory, or an "NFA weapon"? (which would make it illegal to carry in Ohio, since it would be something other than a handgun or handgun accessory.)

Ohio treats a silencer as a dangerous ordnance.

Here is some reading:

2923.11 Weapons control definitions.

“Dangerous ordnance” means any of the following...

...Any firearm muffler or silencer

2923.17 Unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance - illegally manufacturing or processing explosives.

2923.19 Failure to secure dangerous ordnance.

ORC only allows a handgun to be carried concealed with a CCL. No other weapons, including dangerous ordnances, are allowed under Ohio CCL provisions.

2923.12 Carrying concealed weapons.
(A) No person shall knowingly carry or have, concealed on the person’s person or concealed ready at hand, any of the following:

(1) A deadly weapon other than a handgun;

(2) A handgun other than a dangerous ordnance;

(3) A dangerous ordnance.

In fact the only exemption to part (3) is for LE/GOV.

In conclusion you must not keep a silencer concealed on the person’s person or concealed ready at hand. Ohio case law would require you to have the silencer locked in you trunk or in a locked case as far away from you as possible if you don't have a trunk... IE you drive an SUV, van, truck or etc...

I'm not a lawyer, this is not legal advice, and consult a lawyer if you have any other questions...

Even if it is recognized as a weapon, there is no minimum or maximum number of CCW an Ohio CCW permit holder can have on them at any given time.

Ohio classifies silencers a 'dangerous ordnance' and a CCL only allows a HANDGUN, or HANDGUNS to be carried concealed.

I was reading on this and wondering. We were told in our class that in Ohio, you can only carry 1 weapon. Is that not true ?

Nope. You have a "Concealed Handgun License." You can carry anything you want as long as it is a handgun. That would include 4 handguns, as they are each a handgun.

it's not "1 weapon" it's "1 type of weapon"

You can carry 18 handguns as long as they each are carried in a law abiding manner.
