Does anyone have experience with a suppressed X-Five? I just ordered an AAC Evo-9 for mine and I'm curious what kind of performance I can expect. Any feedback, pics, info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mine runs 100% with a Trident 9 and pretty much any factory 147 gr ammo. It really sings with the handloads I have worked out for it.

Paintball gun quiet Cool

I have run both the AAC Evo and the Trident on the X-5. I have not had problems with either but I like the Trident better. The trident is heavier and somewhat larger but quieter.

Pic with AAC

Would you say that the Trident is considerably quieter? I went with the AAC because it is shorter and thinner but I'm starting to second guess my decision. I would imagine I can still switch to the Trident even though I've already submitted my paperwork to the BATFE. I'm also interested in the Ti-rant. Here's a pic of my pistol.

The Trident is noticeably quieter but not considerably quieter.

They are both good suppressors but I like the Trident because it is quieter, stronger, and rated for full auto.

I like the Evo9 because it is lighter and smaller.

I won't sell either.

Good luck

I`d love to find a threaded barrel for my x5 tactical. I currently have an evo9 on my navy 226, but always wanted to be able to try it on my x5.

I know I need to shoot some better pictures.

I use a Trident. Mine runs great on the 147 or 158 grain subsonics.

I had three+ cases of the IMI black tip left over from some work with the Israelis about 12 years ago. Once that ran out, I needed to find something as quiet.

So I hand load the 158s now. I use 6 grains of AA#7 over the Frontier 158 grain .357 plated flat point.

As you can see, the projectile's profile is almost exactly the same as the Hornady XTPs. The pure lead swagged core is soft enough for the .001-.0015 diameter difference not to be a pressure issue. The plating keeps down leading. It is a GREAT combination. Plus it is about the same sound as a paint ball gun.

I only bought 1 case (10,000) of the 158 frontier projectiles so I do not know what I will switch to when those run out.

I'm using 3.9gr of WW231 behind Hornady 147gr encapsulated FMJ at a length of 1.140"

Gets 1000 fps from my X5 Tactical with the Trident on.

Strange as it may sound, these are made in South Africa. The US Distributor that had them has been out of stock for years. I would love to stash another case in the loading room.

When I get close to running out I will start looking at the Berry's or Ranier product as a replacement. You might want to request samples from either company and measure them for suitability.

Black Hills Shooters Supply in Rapid City, SD is handling the Frontier bullets now.

I have used some of the 147 grain bullets and poor accuracy with my M&P pistol, other club members have no problems at all with their guns. I have not tried them with other guns yet, so it could be just the way the Smith does not like them.

Ameriglo Suppressor sights. You can get them at TGS. Mine needed the front sight equivalent to a #6 FWIW.
