Do a search for "Eds Red". I forget the composition but it uses transmission fluid, acetone and some other solvents. Popular stuff. I use a soak in kroil. Does the same thing I assume.

Haven't heard of the above, but it sounds interesting. With take-apart cans, just open 'em up and scrub the lead out with a brass brush. whatever you do, don't use the hydrogen peroxide-vinegar mix to soak your can in. it produces lead acetate which is a Level 3 health hazard by HAZMAT standards (being from 0-4). even if you flush the shit out, when the first round is fired the lead acetate residue is vaporized for your convenient inhalation.

Unless it's a .22 can, why bother? The crud aids suppression, and any excess gets blown out.
