H.R.5103 Proposes a Tax Stamp Increase to $500 as well as hefty taxes on all firearms. Congress has always been more willing to tax than to ban. We all need to keep an eye on this bill.

Oh joy !

The best part is:

Adjustment for inflation.—In the case of any taxable year beginning in a calendar year after 2019, each dollar amount in subsection (a) shall be increased by an amount equal to—

“(1) such dollar amount, multiplied by

“(2) the cost-of-living adjustment determined under section 1(f)(3) for the calendar year in which the taxable year begins, determined by substituting ‘calendar year 2018’ for ‘calendar year 2016’ in subparagraph (A)(ii) thereof.

Of course this is what they'll do. Banning it is hard but increasing the tax on it will achieve a small step towards a ban. If they can price it out of reach for more people, mission accomplished.

Fucking crooks.

Ouch! Maybe this is good time to invest in another silencer or two? The prices are dropping on them, and on the horizon, if the bill passes, it looks like another frenzied rush for stamps before the effective date in February 2019.

Yes, and since NFA transfers to non-LEOs (except maybe AOW) are prohibited in IL, there will be no outcry from his constituency.

I expect it will be DOA in committee!
