To those who know...

I'll be moving in a couple of weeks and I know I need to let the ATF know my new address - do I just call?

Also, I used the Quicken/Trust method to procure my suppressor - I'm sure I will need to update my trust with the new address as well? Will the ATF need a notarized copy of the new trust documents?

I can not comment on the issue of a Trust.

ATF does not require any notification of relocation of a silencer or AOW.

Other NFA items require notification only if the item crosses state lines.

You can download and fill out ATF form 5320.20 from http://www.titleii.com and send it to the ATF with your location change if you want to but like I said it is not required for silencers and AOWs and never required if an in state move.

Fill the form for Class 3 firearms and it's just a "notification".

As for trust, comply to your state law for the address change.

When I moved back in Nov. I just sent BATFE a letter with all the info on my can, my old address and my new address. I got a letter in January letting me know they had received my letter. My move was an in state move, and I didn't go the trust route.

If one is moving interstate, then one wants to do whatever state and local laws require and fill out a 5320.20 and get it back before you do the move. AOW/suppressors do not require it, but I would suggest doing it anyways.

From what I have read, intrastate does not REQUIRE any paperwork for the feds. I know my local ATF inspector said it should be done, but could not find where it was required, some years back.
