After years of planning and research and 3 months after ATF cashed Form 4 check, I've finally brought home my first Class III item. A SWR Trident 9 suppressor.
If you're interested in a review of the SWR Trident 9 along with performance testing and videos, check out: http://www.silencerresearch.com/swr_trident.htm ________________________________________________________________________ P226 Tactical 9mm w/ SWT Trident9 and P226 non-rail 9mm |

Nope. I haven't even shot it yet. The dealer would have let me shoot it while waiting for that damn little $200 postage stamp, but I didn't want make the suppressor a 'used' suppressor until I was certain that I could take it home. Huh? To go to work tomorrow morning and think all day about shooting the suppressor?... or call in with a case of suppressor-itis and just go shoot. Decisions. Decisions. ________________________________________________________________________ P226 Tactical 9mm w/ SWT Trident9 and P226 non-rail 9mm |

Range Report: Sa-weet!!! All I can say is 'wow'. The shot report was suppressed so much that it was the 'plinky' sound of the action that was making all the noise. Having never shot a suppressed weapon before, I was a bit surprised at how 'loud' the metallic action noise was because you ovbiously can't hear it over the explosion of an unsuppressed round. The guys I shot with were testing a brand new .460 S&W to be used for a bear hunt later this year and a .44 mag for whitetails. The contrast between the ported .460 and the suppressed 9mm was laugh out loud funny. I don't know how else to review the Trident9 other than that the 'cool factor' is way high and I think it was well worth the time spent waiting, the effort and the money.

Great set up!
Congrats on the new suppressor! Best gun on the market (IMHO) & Best Suppressor one the market (IMHO) |

Do you still have use of your laser grip with the silencer attached?

Sure. The suppressor does not interfer with the laser grips at all. Using the normal height iron sights with the suppressor blocking the view did take a bit of getting used to and involved a fair amount of estimating there the sights were lined up on the target, but we weren't really shooting for accuracy anyways. If any of you are on the fence about getting a suppressor, my advice is to do it while you still can. Not to sound too much like a dork, but there really is a big-time cool factor when you pull out a suppressor. There first words out of one of the guys I was meeting to shot was, "That's not what I think that is? Nah... that's some type of compensator, right?" Nope... it's exactly what you thought it was. ________________________________________________________________________ P226 Tactical 9mm w/ SWT Trident9 and P226 non-rail 9mm |
