They also have the Famed "GATOR GRIP" on the front of the Magwell!
Compare these against ANY other manufacturer, and you will see why these are called "The Finest AR15 Lowers on the Market."
pics of "gator grip"?
why are they the best, i am not familar with this manufacture. i need to build a lower for an RRA 6.8 SPC upper, i like the "multi caliber". haveing a hard time finding "6.8" marked, all have been 5.56/223.
are you selling the "no markings" as complete rifles or just the lower or stripped lower?
thanks

This is from a Thread on AR15.com that I responded to:
quote:
AR15 Manufacturers are not all created equal.
Sure, the final products look "Similar" but in the long run, the people who make or sell AR15 lowers usually can pick one up and know exactly who made it - regardless of what the name or logo says on the side.
What many people do not realize, is that there are NOT 100's of Manufacturers, but rather only 1/2 a dozen. (MMS, CMT, LAR, SunDevil, LMT, Superior, Aero Precision... maybe a couple more.) (YHM makes Uppers... a couple others also make uppers only) There are a VERY small number of Machining Operations that will actually take a raw block of Aluminum or a Forging, and turn it into a finished lower or upper.
Why are there 100's of BRANDS on the Market? Well, because the Market allows for it. If a dealer has an 07FFL, they can legally become a Manufacturer of AR15's - Does that mean that THEY actually made it? NOPE.
Ok, so how does this fit into not buying certain brands? EASY.
Lets say that one REAL Manufacturer charges a certain price per lower. The price conscious shopper will call around and find that another REAL Manufacturer charges a few bucks less, but skips a few critical tolerances checks, or perhaps doesn't probe during the CNC milling operations.
Does this matter to the price savvy shopper? NOPE. He'll go right ahead, order 150 lowers with his logo on the side, and never even know that his mag well is tight, his take down pins are slightly off center or the flashing on forging was never removed. Sure, a few will come back and need replacing, but for the price, he doesn't really care.
I shop around, I ask questions and I've toured a few facilities. I've seen how they are MADE. I own Raw Forgings from MOST of the major Materials Forging Companies. I base my choice of lowers NOT on initial price, but rather on the long term value, the fit finish and the consumer image of the company.
Why did I choose MEGA?
MEGA has been around since 1984, and the Shop itself has been around FAR longer with roots in the AeroSpace industry. They have dedicated CNC Machines running that make uppers, lowers, buffer tubes, charging handles and ALOT of other parts still in the works. They know their stuff! They measure and test each surface WHILE each lower is being machined on the CNC to ensure that the Logo and Text are all EXACT on EACH Lower, regardless of tolerance variables in each forging. (it happens) When each lower is finished being made, they have their tolerances tested AGAIN on a CMM. (Coordinate Measurement Machine)
What does this mean to the consumer?
Each lower is EXACT. They have been touched by human hands numerous times throughout the process, each time being inspected for any flaw that would cause rejection.
IF there is a problem, they ARE FULLY COVERED with a LIFETIME warranty from MEGA. (They will make a NEW lower if the lower is out of spec in any way possible)
If you read the reviews online, you'll see why spending a few bucks more for a MEGA is worth it. They have, HANDS DOWN, the BEST finish in the industry. (They MEET AND EXCEED MIL-SPEC STANDARDS)
They ALL have a DEEP, DARK, CLEAN Finish.
Compare that to a Superior, LAR, CMT, LMT, Bushmaster, DPMS, or even a COLT.
