Bullcrap.....the moderators should more closely monitor all the HIJACKING that takes place in the classified section. The Sigforum has more bullcrap that is permitted in the classified section than all the other gunsites I'm a member of (eight). FWIW, also the classified section is one of the most confusing/cluttered classified sections on the internet. Why hasn't the SigForum ever separated handguns from longguns from accessories? Cluttering? Are you kidding me? The SigForum classifieds are THE most cluttered section in all the gun internet. Why live in the dark ages? Everybody else separates the sections. I know I don't count for crap at this point but it makes it a helluva lot better with separate sections.

Next time you cancel my classified just think how the classifieds can be improved......blah, blah, blah Mad

My apologies for asking, but... how do I delete an old post? I've tried clearing it, changing the options, and looked around for a "delete" key.

Again, sorry for asking something that is probably obvious to everyone but me!

Also, if you don't hear this often enough, another thanks for running this forum. I spend much time lurking and learning here. It is appreciated! TB

The Mods do not want "Old" ads deleted it is a way for us to go back and search you in the future to ensure you are safe to deal with just leave them alone and the "old" ads won't bother you.

Thanks MW22...

I have a question.

I posted and sold two items on a WTS ad on Saturday.

Today I had another item (4 Magazines) for sale and I added them to the previous WTS that I sold on Saturday.

Was that the right thing to do or do I start a new WTS ad?

I do not want to be slapped on my wrist by doing something I shouldn't do.

Thanks

Leave completed ads intact. They act as a record of the transaction.

If you've sold all the items in an ad, you may start a new one. Change the WTS/WTB/WTT in the title to a "found" or "sold." Leave the contents of the thread as they were.

This is about active ads. If you have multiple items to sell, you don't need multiple ads to do so.

Arc.

Question answered. Next time I'll create a new ad and will not add an item to a "completed" transaction.
Thanks a lot.

Yep, just found out I'm guilty. Should have read this sooner. Now I know. And knowing is half the battle.

Hypothetical question...

An old ad got lots of viewings/replies, most of the items were sold and the remaining unsold items were eventually withdrawn. The ad becomes inactive and drops down dozens of pages after a few weeks.

Can we start a new ad at a later date or do we revive that same old cluttered ad? (Is there a time period is what I'm asking). Thanks.

az, while not speaking for owners or moderators, think it is acceptable and even a good idea to do a new ad, if old one, as you described, is back a dozen pages or so!

If all of the items in your ad are spoken for, sold, etc, do the following:

Edit the title of the ad to indicate it is complete. Such as "All Sold" for a WTS, and "Found" for a WTB.

Do not delete the content of the ad. Only change the title to let the staff, and everyone else, know it is inactive.

Then begin a fresh ad.

Arc.
