Cool. I'll give you very detailed instructions on how to eFile a Form 1.

The directions in the 2nd pdf file answer most of my questions.
I do however have a couple more:

Whenever you take the SBR (or any trust item) out to the range (or wherever) you must have paperwork with you. Is this correct?
If so, which paperwork exactly? Does it need to be original or can it be a copy?
Is it possible/permissible to shrink the paperwork down to a manageable size? (ie. to fit in a wallet)

On the form 1, I assume the application is made by a "corporation or other business entity"?
Does the trust name go in "trade name"? or in the applicant name section?
Overall length = the shortest length that the firearm will be, correct? (ie. telescoping stock collapsed)
"why you intend to make firearm" - recreation? self defense?

Thanks,

-Mike

Mike,

I take a copy of my paperwork with me just in case (leave the original in the safe as copies are treated like originals). If you ever lost every single copy and the original the ATF will send you a copy of theirs (hence everything is in duplicate). I size my copies down to 1/4 size so I can fit 4 to a page (front and back) and laminate it. Just grab whatever sheet or sheets I need for the day. When up at camp and the SBS Benelli is with me all the time I keep a copy sized down and folded up to fit in my wallet. Just the same I have scanned copies saved on my computer, phone, and in amazon cloud.

Trust name goes in trade name on eforms if I recall correctly. Overall length is longest possible length. Stock fully extended out measure in a straight line using the bore as your line to follow (ex: 10.5 sbr ar15 is 29.5 overall with your standard CAR style stock). Intent to make firearm, I always put "for all lawful purposes" or "for all lawful purposes and to enhance collection." Either will work. I wouldn't put anything crazy like "because I can" or limit the scope such as "self defense." One of these days for shits and gigs I may submit a form 1 that says, "because this is 'Merica." Just curious to see if it goes through without questions.

Three down and two to go! Got three Trust Form 4's back (about 3.5 months) using Dean's trust. Sent two more out. Big convenience to avoid the fingerprinting and LEO sign off!

Thanks
