One more quick question for you. Can the same trust have NFA and non-NFA firearms in it? Also, I asked earlier about co-trustees and beneficiaries. You said it'd be best for my 3 children to be co-trustees. Should I include them along with my wife as a beneficiary or just her? Finally, does it matter if my wife purchased some of the firearms? For example, if her name was on the 4473, does that matter or not?

Ok, that's actually 3 questions....sorry... Wink

Erick

This covers all firearms and firearm-related property. Your wife can sign the form 4473. However, you will technically grant the property to the trust.

List whoever you want to receive the property when you pass away as beneficiaries.

Dean - thanks again for the great deal for SigForum members.

have a question about a trust I just submitted... do I need to to do anything about my children, all under the age of 18 (as they relate to the trust)? I know they can't legally be part of the trust due to not being able to execute a legal document, but do I need to list them somewhere on it so as not to violate any laws related to NFA weapons in my household? All NFA weapons (or weapons for that matter) will be locked in a safe that only I have the ability to open... any legal issues with "access to NFA weapons"?

Thanks.

They can be in the trust. They just can't possess until they're 18. No need for them to sign anything.

I just submitted mine on your website. I can't believe how easy that was. It took less than a 1/2 cup of coffee and was done while my kids were eating breakfast. Seriously folks, if you ever dream of doing NFA, this is the way to go. $99 is well worth the hassle and gas cost of getting fingerprints, photographed and the Chief LEO signature.

This was way to easy to set up and use. I walked into my LGS--had previously dropped off Dean's paperwork for my trust. LGS had pre printed all the forms--all I had to do was sign 4x (2 suppressors).
What can I do for my previously purchased suppressors - not purchased thru the Trust? Does it require another $200 tax stamp per item to transfer into the Trust?

It would require your transferring them to the trust. That incurs the $200 tax. I recommend you transfer them sooner or later to reduce issues as you get older.

Don't know that I'll ever own a NFA weapon, but just making sure my son gets my guns upon my untimely demise is worth the price of admission.

Thanks Dean!

Dean,

Just out of curiosity, have you been seeing staudt's as a reference showing up on people setting up trusts? I've just been referring customers to your service since you're a long time member here. One of our guys just did a trust through you as well.
