I'd like to find one of these handy blades that isn't a tourist model. The Ulu's I've found seem to use inexpensive materials and instead focus on the engraving. :+)

Any suggestions? Thank all.

I bought an Alaska Cutlery Ulu about 15 years ago. It gets used almost daily, and has held up well. I've never sharpened it, but it is a chopping tool, not a slicer. That being said, I can't find a link for them. But this looks pretty close, but mine came with a dished cutting bowl/board.

I don't want to sway you away from the Ulu, if that is what you are after, and you didn't necessarily describe your purpose. However, I did want to point out the newer Benchmade Nestucca Cleaver. It could have a similar use as an ulu, with maybe a little more diverse utility. S30v and G10 handle material.
