Another for the SOG Seal Pup. I have mine in my Hiking/BOB. It's got a workable legnth, and is light enough for what you are looking for.

Benchmade fixed Griptillian.

I'm the reason that one's now out of stock....
I already have 1, and it is a great little knife. The all black on is going to be strapped to the outside of the BOB.

for your criteria, however, i would say Seal Pup.

The RC-6's are SO new,

That unless you've been on the waiting list,

you can't actually get one yet. Wink

Harold, that's one heck of a set up - blade and sheath look great, and there's nothing like the feeling of micarta. Cool

If you ever get around to it, I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in a basic review/field report. I'm also curious how you rate it against your A1?

+1, this and the other threads really have me looking seriously at the A1, the ONLY negative I've heard about it (not including that sheath) is that the handle is a little short, made for those small Euro hands.

Back to the OP, the Cold Steel knives look great in your budget. A google search found a recon scout for $56.47 here...although I have never done business with this site.

Knife shopping is almost as much fun as gun shopping. Smile

P.S. This is the thread that really got me going on Fallknivens...Paras collection is fantastic!

I'm looking forward to using both A-1 and RC-6 side-by-side in comparison.

I'll try to post a review and pics Smile

+1 on the A1 - it's quite a knife. I'm glad I got mine when they were still offering it with the leather sheath. I've got large (not fat, but large) hands. The handle is just big enough, I'd say.

One thing I know from just holding the handle on both A-1 and RC-6 is that the larger micarta of the RC feels more "grippy" and comfortable.

When the hands are wet the A-1 feels slippery.

It is! Have two of them (just one in the picture). My points for the Extrema Ratio Shrapnel also. Solid, small but efficient.
