Hinderer Knives
I’ve been much more involved with knives than firearms over the past few years. I’ve really gotten into Hinderers over the past year. I love the ability to endlessly customize then, especially with factory parts. This is the most recent one I put together. I have a few more copper parts inbound to complete it. I wanted a black & gold theme since I’m a Purdue graduate. The gears seemed to be nice nice touch for the school’s engineering tradition.

Any other Hinderer fans?

I met Rick many years ago at a show in Maryland, it was a one day show in early December. A class guy and I don't think he'd made a folder at that time. Fast forward to a show in California, maybe 2010. There was a lottery and I entered for each knife and was drawn for two, a XM-24 one of very few made with the Fireman's Cross and a XM18 with the Hellfire Blade. I was offered a nice profit and sold both not long after the show.

You've done a nice job with the customizing, I'm a fan of Copper accents.

Thanks, I use brass or copper hardware kits on just about all of my Hinderers. I just received the remaining copper parts that I needed for that knife and installed them last night. The lock side now has the two-tone theme as well. I'm going to take some photos of it tonight.

I have 3 Hinderer knives 2 of them are the 3.5" and a 3"
I really prefer the 3" for most days carry. If its around the property and other heavier use I love the 3.5" Wharny blade. I don't fancy up or modify 'em I'm too hard on them.

I've got several XM-18 3.5" and one 3". I just got the 3" and have really grown to like it. It has become my most carried knife in civilian clothes for now. You should check out the Half Track too. It's a small knife but very robust and one of the favorites in my collection. It's the red & blue one. I've kind of modified it to have a super hero theme.

I have 2; a 3.5 folder with a skinner blade, and a 3.5 fixed blade with the spanto blade profile.

Good knives.

Hinderer XM-18 Copper & DLC build complete
It's heavy and slightly uncomfortable with that gear clip but I love it.

I'd love to see photos if you have them.

I’m so-so on the gear clip, but I love the gear stand-offs!

Yeah, I wish it was DLC but they don’t make the gear clip with that coating. The gears can really dig into the hand while using it too. I might have a custom leather sheath made for it and ditch the clip altogether for another copper filler tab. That’s how I carry this one.

The closest thing I have is a ZT 0562. I do enjoy the design and I hope to have a real Hinderer one day. Nice knives!

I had a 0562 but sold it. It’s a good knife. ZT has good Hinderer collaborations. I’ve still got a collection of 0550s

I have one. Sorry no pic. They are truly a nice blade, but dang they cost a lot. I do like the way these have been customized.

Here's a neat one I just picked up: full titanium MP-1 with a brass inlay. I haven't seen another one of these. I love brass & copper for my knives, pens, flashlights, etc. I think the MP-1 is an overlooked Hinderer offering.

I think Hinderers have really become my favorite knives overall.

Nice variety on the grinds. I grabbed mine when Rick had a run of them in a flash sale. It lives in my Mobile Medical Team deployment bag. I volunteer for a team that can have a 70 bed hospital set up in about 18 hours from call out. We are told to be prepared to be self sufficient for 72 hours until they can get stuff set up for us. Rick's tools are made to be used and my Flashpoint is the perfect blade for that bag.
