Hi.

You helped me out choosing a foldingknife for a few weeks ago and it finally arrived yesterday, here´s a short writeup;

I ended up ordering a Benchmade Mini-Pika II (10412S).

It´s a red class-as-cheap-as-it-gets-$25-knife but I can´t imagine how well made the more expencive must be if this is the cheapest in the line. This little Benchmade feels very well made, no flex in the blade at all and a positive click when it locks open. It arrived sharp, it cuts very good when I´ve tried it out but it doesnt feel razor sharp.

To me it´s a really good looking knife.

It turned out the knife I got is a "First production" knife and as far as I understood for some that might be collectible. Anyway, the bug bit me and I think I have to get a few more Benchmade and one or two Spyderco´s for comparison Smile

Thanx for the help.

/JW

I´ve got a 1 min Youtube clip on this knife but if You want someones opinion who are more knowlageble this is a good review.

A few pictures of the knife;

Congratulations!

My old Mini-Pike gets used all the time around the house. Great little knife.

Thanks for the review.

Form-wise, the mini-Pika II seems similar to the old Benchmade mini-AFCK, my favorite folder. Enjoy it, Benchmade makes good stuff.

I just ordered this little beauty and it should be here today or tomorrow. I have had Benchmade knives in the past and so far have not found one I didn't like.

This one will be my EDC.

Congratulation Jack, I am glad you got a Benchy, and that you like it, and I am glad we did not steer you wrong. Thank you for the update.

Well, Knifes can be adcitive, Benchmades in special...

Here is my small Collection so far:

The 530 in the middle has actually a non-coated blade, the pic is quite poor, sorry.

The knifes I like most are Spydercos and Benchmades, I figure they are the best buy in my personal price range...

JW,
I just bought one of these myself. Did you find that the action was pretty stiff? Mine's not easy to open.

It acts as a "poor mans Emerson-Wave, it opens the blade by pulling out of the Pocket.
Did it to all my blades with a hole in it...

Have a look:

Benchmade Rocks,I like that Mini Pike,and a first production at that! The Mini Grips are my favorites. For a lark I bought my wife one,and to my surprise she is never without it. Uses it to open mail,etc. First time she has ever shown any interest. Regards
