I'm new to this world, but I took a leap of faith after only owning a Kershaw Chive and Swiss Army Tinker--ordering the Large Classic Seb.
I know very little about knives... but all a man needs to do is hold and open this folder. No lesson is needed. The word perfection comes to mind. Thanks from a lurker. This knife deserves its reputation. Daaaaamn is this nice. |

I was contemplating on purchasing a sebenza because everyone holds them in such high regard. I don't know whether i should buy the large or small. I kinda want one with micarta inlays though.

Thanks.
Sorry I don't know how to post pics here yet... Maybe a link for instructions? Like I said I know very little about knives, I just decided to go 'all the way' possibly to save myself money and time in the long run. I'm not new to collecting--I've spent hundreds of hours on different forums and I know all too well the obsession, no matter what the 'thing' it is you are collecting. With knives, I figured, just go all the way right off the bat. Just get that great fine serious bad ass Sebenza. Maybe it will prevent buying and selling 50 other knives. I'll tell you it looks like I made the right choice. Hard to want another at this time. Since I can't post pics... yet.... here's my impressions. The handle is solid as a rock, and fits like the proverbial soap-bar in my hand. The handle has a slightly 'blasted' texture that makes for real-gripping. The blade slips out like a starlet's leg from a limousine. Heaven. I don't know anything, but you just 'Know' in your hands and heart, how fine this thing is, when you feel it and see it. The blade is thick enough to tell you it is not kidding around. It has a fierceness. It also has a Zen like composure that may separate it from 100 other knives that may only have the fierceness. The handle makes a sound when you handle it--music to the ears--it is a great sound--It's another aspect of this knife that gives you that elevated feeling handling it. But make no mistake, this is not some 'art' knife. This thing is dead serious too, in my estimation--I can't wait to camp with it, and eventually make it a part of my daily life in a rural setting where one day I hope to live. Now I'll carry it with me--in the city--using it mainly on boxes, bubble wrap, paper--and just opening and closing it, going 'ahhhh'..... I could go on, but I'm new here and I hope I haven't babbled too much. Thanks for listening--and yes, I could not recommend this knife more highly--especially if you want to Cut to the Chase--get the Seb. ASAP. |

Someone once had a tag line here that said, "buy quality and only cry once". You have selected an incredible knife, IMO.

so sexy it hurts |
Great choice on a good knife.
A large Sebenza frequently resides in my pocket more than any of my other knives. "You have the right not to be killed..." The Clash, "Know Your Rights" |
