I snagged three Buxton Fighters recently. These are the Randall dealer special for Wayne Buxton. Size-wise, it is between the Models 14 and 15 with a 6.5-inch blade. The Models 14 and 15 have 7.5- and 5-5-inch blades, respectively. It is also Bowie-style. The BF is also unique in that its full tang protrudes to form a skull crusher.

The standard configuration has a stainless steel blade, nickel silver double hilt (Model 1 style), and border patrol handle made of black micarta. Here is a photo:

I have two others with non-standard hilts and handles. Here is the one with forward-curved nickel slver hilt and single fnger grip red/black micarta handle:

But, there are far worse kicks to be one, so that's okay. Wink

Now you need a Stoddard Special, which is one of my favorite of the dealer specials.

The Stanaback Special is also nice.

Great looking blades! The Buxton Fighter is one of my favorite Randall made knives. One of these days I'll pick one up.

Wayne Buxton apparently gets a few standard-configuration ones per month, and the 2008 price is $477 plus $20 shipping. He was expecting five or so this month. Drop me an email if you'd like Wayne's contact information. I bought my standard-configuration one from him earlier this month. Instant-gratification at its finest, for knives for which such a thing is not easily done for a reasonable price point.

Those are very nice Ken.
I really like that red and black micarta handle with the forward curve hilt. Gorgeous!

Very nice Ken! I got my Buxton a few years back and it's just like yours with the border patrol handle.

The Buxton is one of the first I recommend to any new Randall collector who likes the #14 & #15 but is anxious to get their first Randall. You're right on the money in that Wayne can get a standard model in far less time than most other sources. As a bonus, the price is pretty reasonable IMO.

Good choice on the 2nd one. The red/black micarta is a nice choice. I've always liked the Buxtons as they have the extended butt. They look very similar to the older Viet Nam era #14 Tenites that used to have the extended butts.
