You guys have me started in the right direction in this new knife collecting hobby. So far I've bought a Fallkniven (S1) and a few nice Benchmades (Skirmish,Mini-Skirmish,Osborne Opportunist). Now I'm wrapped around the axle over the Bark River knives. My new favorite vendor,New Graham Knives, doesn't sell them.

Are the Bark Rivers high quality knives?
Is there a vendor you'd recommend?
Should I save my money for something else?

Thanks in advance, Jim

I am waiting for my first Barkie to arrive in the next day or two. An Aurora with blaze orange G10 scales.

I ordered mine from www.knivesshipfree.com

I have had the knife for a week. I bought it for when I play in the woods.

I originally wanted a scandi ground Woodlore style knife, but I wanted a bit longer blade. I decided to give BRKT a shot, and I am happy I did.

I have had it out and worked with it for awhile, and it is great. Sharpest knife I own, easy to touch up. I have batoned through quite a bit of wood, have done quite a bit of notching, and have been making fuzz sticks by the hundreds. I have also been using it in the kitchen and it is excelling there also.

Excellent edge retention, I have only hit it with the strop, and that is only because I automatically do it before I put any knife away.

The Aurora may be my first Barkie, but it definitely will not be my last. Mike Stewart has a customer for life.
