I am looking for something to supplement my trusty CRKT M16-13.

http://www.knifeworks.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=10286

vs.

http://www.knifeworks.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=8513

I like them both, quite a bit. So many Benchmades are ugly as sin to me, but that Stryker is one nice looking blade. However it is impossible to not read something good about Emerson. Also is Knifeworks.com reputable? They have rather competitive prices from my limited research.

Question:
Which knife?

Choices:
Benchmade Stryker
Emerson CQC7B Wave
BOTH!

Question:
Is Knifeworks.com legit?

Choices:
Yes
No
Say what now?

Get the Benchmade. That knife is awsome looking. I purchased the below knife from knifeworks.com and had good luck. It is Bradley Alias II. I freaking love it.

Get both.

Really tho, look at the new Benchmade Rift. Or the Kulgera. I don't have either, BUT, they both are on my short list.

Out of the Stryker and the CQC7, get the CQC7.

ive had both Emerson and Benchmade items. the Emersons seemed more set up for hard use but never stayed sharp. the Benchmades felt alot nicer in fit and finish, stayed sharper but i did not like beating on them. Also, i have since becomes somewhat less confident in liner locks.

i'd buy the Benchmade if had to pick one.

100%, they are one of the first places I go for new knives, many orders from them and never a problem.

Great folks!

If this knife is one you will use frequently for cutting stuff, you may not like the chisel grind on the Emerson.

You might want to check the prices as New Graham.

I voted for BOTH because I don't think you could ever have enough, however, I have the BM Stryker and LOVE IT. I don't have any experience with Emerson's. I've never used knife works but ALWAYS use New Graham Knives. Their service is excellent and they have most knives in stock.

+1. No experience with Emerson knives or with KnifeWorks. However, It's not likely I'd stray from New Graham Knives to try knifeworks, anyway. New Graham has been excellent. My Benchmades have been excellent, as well.

New Graham sure has a nice selection, and as far as I see, all their prices are only $1 more than knife works, plus i see some benchmades on New Graham that Knife Works does not offer

Sorry, the link I gave for the Emerson on New Graham is for the Mini-CQC7.

Having owned a Benchmade Stryker and a CQC-8, I give the edge to the CQC-8. The Wave feature is nothing short of awesome. The steel is comparable. The Stryker was a very nice knife though. An ideal knife would be a Waved knife with the Axis lock.

If you think gun magazines are objective or honest, when's the last time they wrote a truly negative review of a firearm? Do you really think all of those pre-production models they're shooting run as reliably and shoot as accurately as they say they do?

90% of gun malfunctions can be attributed to poor ammo (reloads, Russian, etc.), lack of maintenance, weak springs, cheap magazines, or improper technique. When a well-trained shooter using a wide variety of high quality ammunition fed from a reliable, self-leveling magazine shoots your gun after it's gone through a through inspection, spring replacement, and cleaning, and still has problems, then it's the gun. Until then, the problem is YOU.

Speaking of Emerson I thought I would throw in that you are not stuck with the chiesel grind. I would look at this. It's the CQC - 7A it has a Spear Point blade and it utilizes the "double V grind."
Here's a link to the site. the one I'm talking about is down at the bottom of the listing. You'll see it.
http://www.emersonknives.com/Tact_index.html

Further they have re introduced a throw back design in the new A 100 Model that is also a "A" grind for them as well. Most knife dealers don't list it but if you go on Emersons sight you will see it.
Good luck

When I got my CRKT M-2102G, Knifeworks was the first supplier to have them available and they had the best price.
It is the knife I have been waiting for. Fast open, light weight and positive lock. The G10 is some nice stuff
