I'm torn between the A1 and A2, but I've got no idea what the handles feel like. Are they different?
If someone could post some pics that would show the width/length of the handles that would be most appreciated. This message has been edited. Last edited by: apprentice, ------------------------------ "...and we liked it!" |

Sorry, no pictures.
The grip is the same on both knifes. No differences. The grip has a standard size, and offers plenty of space for larger hands too. I remember chosing mine. Back then, I picked the A1 because it balances better than the A2. I used my A1 once, for a six month tour to the Amazone (Puccalpa, Peru). It's in a darwer since then. It's an excellent blade, and offers plenty of draw, but it's a bad dangler and heavy if you want to carry it on a belt. After this experiece I replaced it with a shorter, lighter, more compact 4" blade knife. But anyhow, the grip of the A1 and the A2 is the same. regards, daniel |

This isn't directly related to your handle question, but I thought you might like to see this link.
You may have already seen it, but just in case: http://www.cutleryscience.com/reviews/a1.html Cliff Stamp's work is quite reliable. Hope it helps. "Always have a reason for living, and stand ready to die for it." |

I have an A-1, the Cold Steel SRK and the Benchmade CSK II.
Going into the woods, where my like is at stake, I take the heavier/thicker/tougher A-1 everytime. Around town in my briefcase, the lighter but sharper BM CSK II comes along. The grip on all 3 is a soft "rubbery" substance that feels good in cold/wet conditions. Harold B ---------------------- "God made men, but Sam Colt made them equal." |
